We ave booked an overnight flight (best deal), we arrive at MCO at around 7am, should be at hotel no later than 9am (Magic Express).

I know we won't be able to get into our rooms that early and though I am hoping we will have slept during flight, I am guessing we will all be tired (Husband, myself and two adult kids age 21)

Any suggestions. I thought we would check in and then maybe get breakfast at Olivia's - but what next? I am not sure any of us will be up for the parks if we haven't had much sleep.

We have arrived that early and actually got our room.
I think it depends on the season and how busy they are.

Other times we have headed to a park. Have done the red eye from Seattle many times.

If you're taking ME, have swimsuits etc in your carryons and hang out by the pool all day?

You can always book the room (or a studio to save points) for the night before. This way you are guaranteed to have a place to crash as soon as you arrive. Tell them you won't be arriving until the next morning so they know you're not a no-show.

Other than that, I agree with packing pool clothes.

I have heard on line check in asks when you are to arrive so if you do that you maybe lucky and your room could be ready when you arrive.

We arrived at 8 am one morning over spring break. To our suprise we were given a room right away once all KTTW cards were dealt with. We didn't even do the online check in so we were very suprised. I guess the day and type of accomodation my limit your early entry to a room. For us it was a Sunday arrival with a studio request. If you want a specific area that may also limit your chances. We gave the option of 3 different buildings and while we didn't get the one that was our first choice we ended up with one that was even better. Good Luck!

Now, if this were me and I were taking your vacation:lmao: (I wish) This is what I would do to get the most bag for the buck (may not work your way, but) Here goes nothing.

If you get as much sleep as possible before the flight and while on the flight (what 5 hour flight?) get a few hrs shut eye (I know it's not easy)

Once you arrive at the Orlando airport, 1. arrive MCO look for coffee shop and ME, 2. head to your resort, 3. check-in and get that out of the way (at this point you have a 50/50 shot on your room being ready.)

If the room isn't ready, this is where the FUN:goodvibes begins:

(location location location) Since you might have to wait for your room to get ready (1pm - 4pm) you could head to the closest park and spend a few hrs (the adrenaline will keep you going) once the room is ready head back to the resort and "relax", goto bed early and start your vacation on the following day. Dine at the park at a CS or if you have time to make a TS ADR.

You could do what DW and I did on our last Adult's only WDW trip:

leave home at 5pm. Drive all night with 2 drives 860 miles from Louisville ky to WDW. (13-14 hr drive) Stop at startbucks before arrive WDW. Check into Pop Century resort at 7:30 am, head to Epcot for park opening. Ride all of the wake me up rides as many times as we could:rolleyes1 (what were we thinking) Started calling the resort at 1pm about every 30 mins and around 1:30 the room was ready. Went back to the room, cleaned up and headed for DTD. Looked for another coffee shop so we could wake up for La Nouba:love: at 6pm. went to bed at 8:30 and woke up the next morning at 7.

This could work if your willing to do it. Just an idea:hippie:

I would camp out on lounge chairs at the pool and catch a nap maybe. Good luck! :)

We arrived at SSR at 7:30AM two weeks ago. DW did online check-in and by 7:50AM we were in our room.

can't recall our studio ever being ready when we arrived in am, typically around 3:00 - 3:30pm:confused3

i'd be worried re pop-up shower re poolside

i'd just pick a park with lots of 'sit down' show opportunities - MGM

This sounds liek the problem we had after our Disney cruise. Got to WDW early and didn't get a room til late. Very tired most of the day, but had fun and went to bed early.

It really depends on how many rooms were empty the night before. If there are empty rooms, then they can be given out first thing in the morning. If they were soldout the night before, you will probably have to wait, housekeeping doesn't start rooms for checkouts until around 8:30.

It depends on when you are going and on which day of the week you are checking in. We were there in early March on a Saturday morning (10am) and our room was ready. As a habit, we don't do any parks the first day -- we're too tired from leaving the house at 4:30 am. I pack our bathing suits and sun block in my backpack and we lounge by the pool (after grabbing an early lunch). Then when the room is ready, we get settled and sometimes take a short trip to Downtown. It's an early-to-bed night. The next day we are refreshed and ready to GO GO GO!
