Early 2025 Discounts Incoming?

Fell for a DFB clickbait headline on Facebook today saying "New Disney Discounts Just Released"...nope nothing new same old ones for Fall & Holiday.

Newman!!! :rotfl:

Re availability, I also think it's related to cheer competitions. My dates in January has TONS of availability and that even includes MLK weekend.

Slight off topic, but I unfollowed DFB because they have really ramped up the clickbait headlines recently. I got tired of clicking on and scanning articles just to find it was old news with a new and misleading title. :headache:

I agree 100%. I go from following to unfollowing and back again. They have a great following so I don't get the need to do so much clickbaiting. It is very annoying.

I can’t wait to plan my trip but won’t do it until there’s at least some kind of hotel discount. Just waiting to give Disney money lol. There’s wide open availability for when I want to go so I can’t imagine no offers.

There is a similar issue in January, not much availability, so worried Disney might be thinking they don’t need a sale.

Mid January is Marathon Weekend so people are sandwiching vacations with it in the middle and skyliner resorts are good for runners since it starts and ends at Epcot.

So I just checked Values for the 2nd week in February just to see where rates are before discounts come out, and the only values available are in AOA, that's it. Isn't that odd with no specials covering that time frame yet?
We are staying CBR Feb 1-9 ....I have booked 3 king rooms because standard and water view were not available. I went back in today and all room categories are sold out except for Preferred. I don't plan on any discount....I was worried about no discount, so I changed from Beach Club to CBR. I am glad I got my rooms when I could!

There's a large cheerleading event February 7-10. I bet availability is pretty limited for those specific dates.

Wow, I have a rack rate preferred 5 person room at CBR for a full week the first week in February, 2 to 9, as had moved it 2 weeks ago, due to a family emergency, from a 2 week stay at Sports mid September, that we had to cancel 3 days before we were to leave.

No discounts, and a good amount higher than what I had paid for the 2 weeks at, and still hoping I can get any kind of discount to it, military, AP or other general one. We do like it there, had a AP one in Martinique last year, in March. Hoping to move if I can get a discount somewhere else, cheaper.

I am crossing fingers that this Tuesday will be the day. I really wish they would also go ahead and release info about skyliner maintenance dates and the dates for FotArts.

In Jan/Feb 2023, we were shut out with no discounts. It was the only trip we have ever paid rack rate. I really don't want a repeat of that but we will go either way.

I too am waiting for this announcement. Last year it didn't come until Oct 25 which seems rather late for those planning on where to stay based on whether the skyliner is running or not. One good thing is that the dates so far have been very similar each year.

Here's what Disney Tourist Blog had to say:

"Since past precedent suggests this is annual preventative maintenance for the Skyliner, here are historical dates for the gondolas refurbishment:
  • Winter 2023: Skyliner system-wide closure January 22-29.
  • Winter 2022: Skyliner system-wide closure January 23-28.
  • Winter 2021: Skyliner individual routes closed for single-day downtime between January 24 and 28.
  • Winter 2020: No Skyliner closure–it was only a few months old!
According to the DTB Archives, the 2021-2023 closures were all announced between early May and mid-August. This year’s closure was the anomaly, with a late October announcement."

I completely agree. The skyliner downtime makes a huge difference in planning resort stays as well as transportation options for park hopping and dining during your trip.

*IF* discounts are released and it's more than one type....ie room only and a free dining. the skyliner operations could be a big factor on deciding which offer and/or which resort to book.

I have a 7 night DCL Treasure leaving Feb 22. So I need a room for Friday before and Sat Mar 1 when we get back . The rack rates are crazy for that Friday almost $300 for Pop. I have a DS Drury reservation booked but would like to see what the discounts are. I fear it’s going to be Sun- Thur like the late 2024 and will do me no good.

I hope October is not their new normal for announcing skyliner closure dates - way too late.

Just checked again with a cast member and no word on when. His response was to "keep checking back on the website."🙄 This is so annoying. January is just around the corner

I'm starting to think there will be no discounts for Jan/Feb due to resorts appearing to be filling up. My resort category and dates are no longer available. Glad I booked when I did

My theory is that they were waiting for this hurricane to pass before announcing anything. It wouldn't be a good look of "Come to Disney World!" when a major storm is hitting the area.

I’m going next fall but I was also hoping to go in February to check out Festival of the Arts.
Those rack rates though 😳
If there’s no discount I’m either not going to go or I’ll rent DVC points.
