Early 2025 Discounts Incoming?

We just booked the Swan for 3/10 - 3/14 through the Marriot site. I keep checking Disney for a discount for anywhere in the Boardwalk area, If I can get a cheaper price I will switch, would love to be able to add the dining plan to snack around the Flower and Garden Festival, that can only happen if we can get a Disney discount.

Years ago it was "I can't wait for my Disney trip, and if I get a discount that would be awesome more money to spend !!" . These days with the way the hotel prices have risen it's more like "I hope I get a discount so that can go to Disney this year".

It's so sad, I actually remember when the Wilderness Lodge was $199.00 a night, it wasn't that long ago.
In 2017 we got a room for a out that price because of the construction they were doing. But we ended up with a castle/fireworks view room, even though we booked standard. Yeah, we could see them working on the cabins, but it was amazing to have the fireworks view. And for like $200/night. Those same rooms go for like $600-800/night.

Back in the early 2000s I can remember checking availability over the phone and the agent would suddenly say "a magical offer has just popped up for your visit!" and it would be something like $199 at the Poly. Looking back on it now I guess these were like the PIN offers we get in email these days, but at the time it was peak excitement!

Just looking at what is posted on the official website at the moment - and my guess is that we won't see the early 2025 discounts at least until the "Summer and Early Fall" discounts are removed. Those are good fro stays through October 3rd, so maybe we'll see that changes soon (I'm hoping for this week--but who knows!?).

I was thinking the same thing, but it won’t stop me checking every hour on Tuesday 😀

same for me. i think October, but I will still check often before then. how much of a discount do they usually offer?
Oh, don't get me wrong - I'm going to be checking every hour on Tuesday also!

The discount rates have varied greatly over the past few years. The 2024 discounts were 10-35% off rack room rate for Disney Visa (and I think 10-30% for anyone). Typically the lower discounts were on value resorts, and the higher on moderate or deluxe rooms. But in 2023, they were just 10-25% off.

35% would be awesome! and I completely forgot about the Disney Visa sales...I am going to check for that sale too.

And this trend will only continue. The room prices will rise, but I don't see them going over the 35% off discount for the GP. I feel as though Disney may be planning on selling the hotel division of the company at some point. When they get to the point of moderates being $500 a night after the discounts, during the value season, I just see the rooms sitting empty. And they probably do as well.

so they would sell the hotel side and keep DVC?
would it help the prices of cash rooms if they converted more resorts to DVC?

Not sure. But I think they could sell DVC as well, but I could be wrong. The reason they converted so many hotel rooms to DVC was because those high priced rooms were sitting empty. Having less of those rooms now open, let's them offer less discounts to the GP.

With respect, DVC speculation convos belong in a different forum. I don't want to see this thread get "mod smacked" for off topic. LOL

I agree with ya'll that prices of rooms are INSANE. It's the reason we have been staying at POFQ instead of the deluxes which was our go-to when our girls were young. I remember getting an agency exclusive discount years ago and paying around $350 for a room at GF. Sigh.....Disney has priced us out of our all-time favorite resort.

We planned our January trip based on current rack rates and hopeful discounts. It's our first split stay doing 5/5 POFQ/BC. I do have a contingency plan jic there is no discounts as well as wishful plans if there are deep discounts. No discounts = 10 days POFQ. Deep discount = 3/7 or 4/6 split stay. Decent discount = current 5/5 split. Gotta love Disney math equations! :rotfl:

I remember staying at the Grand Floridian and Polynesian for around 260.00 a night. It was a travel agent discount. I don’t think I’m allowed to write the name. Those were the days. No longer available 🙄
