Just wondering..... what is the earliest you have ever checked in and 1) gotten a room right away or 2) checked luggage but had to wait. Please tell which hotel and time of year.

We will be checking into ASMo on Jan 2nd. I am wondering if getting there before 3pm is a mistake or not.

Checked in at AKL at 9:30AM, were given a room, and an upgraded room at that.

Checked in at 6:30. Room was ready. Keep in mind it all depends on the time of year. If you are going at a busy time there probably won't be rooms available real early.

I've done several early check-ins (say around 7:00am, but that was to get into early hour) and had to wait until 3p.m. But this last trip, I checked into the All star Music at 8:30 and got my room right away!:faint: I couldn't believe it! I was so happy:hyper: It really depends on if your room is ready when you check in. Good luck!

Checked into the Poly at 8:30 AM, this year, the day before Easter, and had a choice of a few rooms that were ready. This despite it being one of the busier times - we sure were glad as we'd just come in from an overnight flight from Seattle.

7:00 a.m. and the room was not quite ready, but was by the time we finished breakfast in the lounge. We've also had luck go the other way--arrived around 10:00 a.m. and our room wasn't ready until 6:00 p.m.! :earseek: Both of these visits were in June, 2nd and 3rd weeks.

The earliest we ever checked into a WDW resort was 9:30am. Last summer (July) we arrived at AKL after our cruise and went to the desk expecting to check our luggage but instead were not only surprised to be given our room, but also to receive a wonderfully magical upgrade to Savannah view.

We really felt lucky that trip. :wizard:

surf2di4....

We will be checking on Jan 2nd and staying the week. What are the crowds like during this time and what kind of weather did you have last year? Were the decorations still up? Do alot of people leave by the 2nd?

Any info would be appreciated.

Sept 02, checked into BWV @ 900 am, got the room. Then on same trip, swapped over to the WL and checked in at 830 am, got the room as well. In sept 01, went to WL about 9am, got the room and an upgrade as well. Also stayed at GF, checked in at 8 am, got the room with no problem. In sept 00, checked in at 1 pm and room was not ready, did not get it until 4 pm.

Checked in at GF in May at 7:00am. The CM checked so we would have what he felt was the best room available in our category. I think he was just smitten with my DD7.;)

Christmas day 2001 we checked into WL at 7:30am and the room was ready. We had booked concierge so we went on up and unpacked and had a light breakfast. Now in 1998 when we went to check into the BWV it was allready after 3 when we went to check in and the room didn't become available until almost 5. They let us hang out in the Concierge Lounge, at BWI, since we were on the gold plan at the time. Longest wait in line was at the CBR in 1997. Over an hour.

6:35am BWV room was ready....but I knew that before we got there had a sick kid and we were checking out of AKL...called and asked if there was any chance we could get a room before 11am...didn't want to check out of one room and have no were for my son to go if I could avoid it...they said come on over....

It really all depends on a few factors:

Occupancy the night before - If the resort was booked, most rooms will not be available until the afternoon. If the resort was not booked, those rooms that did not sell the night before will be clean and available first thing in the morning.

Requests - the more requests you make, the less likely your room will be available in the morning, especially if it was pre-blocked and part of a lockout.

October '96....(POR)checked in at 10:30am.........no room but didn't care because we were going to the parks.

October '00.....(POR)checked in at 11:00am.......no room but didn't care because we were going to the parks.

October '00 (same trip) (WL)checked in at 9:00am .....no room/went to parks.

December '01...checked in at 8:00pm....CL...went to room right away/relaxed for the evening at "home." :cloud9:

6 a.m., first week of December at Port Orleans, got into room right away. I did request an early check-in when I made my reservation, and a lady who was checking in at the same time was told her room wasn't ready yet (I suspect she didn't request an early check-in).

I honestly have never waited till after 3pm. The earliest being around 8:30- 9:00 am- which was early may 2003. Im not too optimistic this trip- coming in July 2nd. Im sure they will be filled. my friend is a cm- whose old boss is now the mgr where we will be staying is going to try and get us rooms next to each other. so we are heading to seaworld in the am and will try and check in after lunch. Our last trip in march over spring break I checked in around 11:30 without a problem and was upgraded to the exc suite thanks to my friend but that was at her resort. I guess you just take your chances.

Checked into All Star Music at 07.30am and the room was ready, this was end of July 1999.

I called CRO this morning to request early check in and they said there is no such thing, but come as early as you want and they will store your luggage. We are driving so that doesn't really help us.
But thank you everyone for all your input. I am very encouraged that if we arrive before 3 we will not have a problem. We are checking in Sun jan 2nd. I anticipate this will be a big check out day, hopefully leading to lots of availability.
