We want to try to get an upgrade at the port. We have never tried for an upgrade before.
Because we are Platinum we do not have an assigned PAT.
What is the earliest we can check in?
What time should we arrive at port? We are taking private transportation.
Thank you

The terminal opens at 10:30. I wouldn't arrive much earlier than 10:15.

I'll assume Port Canaveral. ;)

You can check in as soon as you can enter the terminal. I'd say arrive a little prior to the terminal opening, 10:15 or so.

Good luck!

We're gold with a PAT at 11:30. Will we be turned away if we arrive at 10:15 and try and check in early for an upgrade?

Not turned away unless the terminal is full but you will get a higher boarding card number than others arriving then and having earlier PATs

There is a chance of being made to wait outside the building if you arrive too early. That hasn't been reported as happening lately, but it is possible. PAT stands for Port Arrival Time and the reason for PATs is to spread out the arrival of passengers so the terminal doesn't get overcrowded for fire code regulations.

Enjoy your cruise!

We just finished the March 21st sailing of the Fantasy. We wanted to try and upgrade at the port as well. We booked our trip late and had a 1:00pm PAT. We took a cab and arrived at the port at 9:50. We dropped our bags with the porter immediately and were 2nd in line to get in to security at the lower entrance. We were let in at around 10:20. We proceeded quickly through security and went through Castaway Club check in. We got through that fast, we were given boarding group 23 and went to the port upgrade counter. There were a few people ahead of us. Everyone was looking for concierge 1br it seemed. They had two and they went fast for around $2000 from a 4/5 cat. When we approached we asked about concierge. We had 2 rooms booked, a 4b and 7a and they were not that close. We almost upgraded to a family concierge which was all that was left in concierge but really wanted 2 rooms and only one was available. We upgraded the 7a to a 5e for $100 and were given room 9172 with a great balcony. It got us closer to our 2nd room. The desk also gave us an earlier boarding group and we got on very early. If your trip is close to sold out, I would be in line to go in immediately to get to that upgrade counter. The 1br and other concierge rooms will be gone early. The people in line ahead of us at the desk were all gold or platinum and they did not have enough concierge upgrades for the first several in line.

thanks for the information...Do you have to check in first before going to the upgrade counter?

We did, but at opening because we were near the front of the line to go in, there was no line yet at the castaway club counters. I went straight to a check in counter. If you're platinum, I'm sure you'll be taken care of.

If there are no upgrades there will be a sign up saying Captain Mickey says this ship is sailing full and we are sorry there are no upgrades.
