Earlier flight or extra 5 hours in WDW?

Ok update.

The late flight on Friday night went up in price so then I looked at the price for the first flight out on Saturday morning. The price difference would be $200 more than the early flight on Friday and we would get a whole extra day in WDW. But then DH reminded me that we would also need an extra hotel night which would be another $200 and that early Saturday morning flight is at 7:50, so ME pickup would be @ 5am!!!!

So choices are 1) 2:50 flight on Friday at less convenient airport or 2) 7:50am flight on Saturday, at a more convenient airport and earning more FF miles, but @ $400 more but another day in WDW?

OMG!!!! What a difference a few hours makes! Now a late flight on Saturday popped up for the same price as the early Saturday morning. And since its on Southwest, we had some miles to pay for one of the fares.

So now we will be leaving late Saturday night (so almost 2 more whole days at WDW), for about $230 more! So excited!

Thanks for all of the replies!

Oh no, now this thread is making me rethink our plans! Our flight out leaves at 7:30pm arriving around 10:30. The only other nonstop that day leaves at 12:45 in the afternoon. I had planned a final MK park day but maybe after 10 days (with DH, DS7, DD5, and my mother) we will want to leave earlier??

10 days you'll be ready to leave. Earlier flights would be more agreeable to kids and mother.

I was just going to write about buying a waterpark ticket because it is cheaper than adding WPM. By 10 days we were ready to leave. We were tired, sick of eating, and wanted our own bed. Have fun. Remember the lines at MCO for check in are long.

if you do the waterpark on the last day you can plan to get there when they open, and leave early enough to pick up your luggage and get to the airport. The waterparks are awesome and leaving early from the waterpark is not like leaving from the other parks - you really don't need 12 hours in the water park!!

So even though we figured out our flights, we still haven't figured out if we are going to add the water park option. I think since we already have the park hopper, that adding that option was another $80 total for all 5 of us.

I think it's a no brainier but DH seems kind of hesitant. And believe it or not, the kids don't seem that jazzed about it either and could care less if we do the water parks. I think it's because they have never been and don't know how fun they are. Unfortunately Typhoon Lagoon will be closed, and DS really wanted to go to that one. Oh well.

I'll post when they decide.
