earlier and later ADRs

Hi!! When I made my ADRs over a month ago, I could not get early(before 12) lunch at Sci Fi or late dinner(after 6) at Prime Time. I have read here that they start opening up more times as it gets closer to your dates. I am now about 1 month away from the dates I need, but am concerned it is too soon to call. Some people have said call about 30 days others have said about 20.

I guess what I am asking is, Can you just call dining and inquire times for certain restaurants or do you have to give all your info. before checking on ADR times? I guess I am paranoid, from reading here, that once they go in and check all my ADRs and then tell me earlier and later times have not opened up yet, I may chance accidently having something cancelled or changed on me that I do not want. I hope I do not sound crazy and I have made my questions understandable. It is just with the free dining (which I am not participating in because I am staying at DVC), I am afraid all the "popular" restaurants will be booked as soon as the early times arrive. I presently have an after 12 lunch at Sci- Fi , but do not have a dinner at Prime Time yet and realize I may not get it at all at this point.

I think you will be safe if you call and inquire about changing the time. If they don't have what you want available just tell the CM to leave your ADR's alone. I don't think they cancel anything until you tell them for sure that the new time is what you want. But I can certainly share your concern about the system swallowing your ADR's! There have been quite a few posts lately about scary things happening with ADR's, but I think the vast majority of them work out as planned. Enjoy your trip!

I was told, when I made my ADR's this week, that 12 noon is the first seating at Sci Fi. He said that is when they open. Was he incorrect?

Erika: As far as I know MGM's Sci Fi actually opens at 11:OO, however, people say they do not open these reservations up until about 3-4 weeks before the date you want. The Passporter does list opening times for Sci Fi and Prime Time as 11 am as well, but like you, when I called a month ago they told me the earliest was 12pm. I see your trip is almost 3 months away so if they do open at 11, according to what people have posted, those times would not open up until you get closer to your date. I will call this week and see what I am told since I am 30 days away. I'll post and let you know.

Thanks, I will be eager to hear what you find out. I wanted 11:30 but he said noon was when they opened. I will be glad if I can change it later. But if they really truly open at 12, then I guess 12 is good .
