Earl Of Sandwich - Is This Possible?

I was wondering whether we would be able to go to Earl Of Sandwich one evening and use a CS credit to get a sandwich, dessert and bottle of drink that we can take-away then keep it in the hotel fridge overnight and take it with us to Universal the next day for our lunch? From pictures I've seen the sandwiches seem to come wrapped in paper and this would be the perfect solution as to what we do for lunch on days when we are at another park! We are on the QSDP so will have plenty of meal credits to use up.

Do you think this is feasible? Will the food keep until the next day and is it suitable to pop in some sort of bag to take back to the hotel? I'm thinking of taking a small cool bag for this to keep them fresh whilst at Universal. Thoughts please from anyone who has eaten at Earl Of Sandwich before. Thankyou.

You could, but I personally wouldn't. The sandwiches are served hot and do not taste that nice cold the next day. (At least the ones that I have tried - I have tried this a few times with the Earl of Sandwich in London.)

The Earl of Sandwich in London also has cold sandwiches - if the EoS in DtD has these, that might be an option which would work.

You can get any of their sandwiches cold too. You don't have to have them heated. Things like their ham & swiss. club and all American would be fine cold IMO. I wouldn't try to get any of their sandwiches that are served with a cheese sauce cold, though.

They also have salads and wraps, btw. The Earl's Cob wrap is served cold and is delicious. :)

I would pack a few baggies for the sandwiches (quart size or gallon size). I have taken food into Disney and Universal both.

I would try to stick with a wrap, which you expect to be cold. The last time we ate there, I asked if my son's sandwich could be served un-heated and they told me no, that their bread is not completely baked through until the toppings are added and it's heated/baked.

I would take a small, collapsible, soft-sided cooler in my luggage to put the sandwiches in to take to Universal. I'm hyper-sensitive about keeping cold foods cold and hot foods hot, so I would not eat a sandwich unless I was certain it had remained at the proper temp.

1) I would not.
2) Even wraps.
3) All the sandwiches are too "gooey" or "saucy".
4) The bread and other makin's would be soggy in no time

5) Besides, why so cheap?
6) There are lots of food places at Universal.

If sandwiches are a must to use the CS credit while leaving WDW to head to Universal, I'd suggest getting the sandwiches at the Boardwalk Bakery. They will package them to go for you and bottle drinks are included there. Last time I was at EoS only fountain drinks were allowed on the DDP.

However there are plenty of inexpensive CS choices at Universal. Panda express is super inexpensive.

Forget the naysayers, it can be done if that is what you want. I absolutely love EOS and look foward to eating there all year. Last time, I bought an extra sandwich just to take back to the room and eat the next day. Although it wasn't as delicious as a hot freshly baked sandwich it was fine to eat. To keep at the right "cold" temperature, just pack one those small freezer cold packs (keep it your room freezer) then toss with your sandwiches to keep cold during the day. I've found some at a discount store 4 for $1 but I think they run about $1 ea. When I travel, I keep one in a baggie, in case it leaks. Yes, there are plenty of CS at US but they don't have an EOS and you are entitled to use your CS credit however you would like. Have a fun time at US.

I personally love the Holiday Sandwich cold and don't think it would be a problem. I say go for it.

On our last trip in January, we ended up with an extra DDP CS credit per person. On our way home, we stopped by DTD and Earl of Sandwich to get sandwiches for the road and asked for sauces on the side. Deee-licous! We definitely had the best food at the rest stop, I tell you what.

Yup. We always get EOS to go on the last day. DH has a love/hate relationship with EOS because of this.

Our sandwiches have always been just fine cold. Still tasty although they are better when piping hot. I would just make sure to get them in the fridge as soon as possible to keep them fresh.

I've eaten EOS a few times cold. I knew I was going to be saving it, so I asked for the sauce on the side. Worked out just fine. I understand that you might be better off with choosing something at Universal, but when you've already paid for food for the trip.....why pay more if you don't have to/want to? Go for it! Also, I'm now going to EOS for lunch tomorrow because I'm craving it.....

The Earl has a self-serve soda fountain, and I can't remember if I've seen any bottled drinks there or not. You may have trouble finding a drink selection to save for the next day if they don't have anything bottled that you're interested in.

They also sell bottled drinks.
