Earl of Sandwich-at FL turnpike rest-stops (other locations, too)

We were driving along the Florida turnpike today and stopped at the Pompano Beach service plaza rest-stop. I was totally shocked to find an Earl of Sandwich counter restaurant! I didn't know they are a chain - same as the one in DTD.

Yes, they are a chain which is why I don't race to eat there when I get to WDW. Plus I've had much better sandwiches other places

Yes, I recall reading an article in the Sun Sentinel recently that they just opened recently at the Turnpike rest stops where you mentioned. The location at the Wellington Mall has been there a while. Now if they'd only open one somewhere in Boca!

Yep, the turnpike rest areas are all updated with new restaurants and dunkin donuts coffee, lol.

We are looking forward to the Checkers and great coffee (goodbye starbucks, thank goodness, lol)

Not a huge fan of Earl, they are just ok.

I had wondered why they opened a Popeye's on Atlantic Blvd just East of the turnpike. DD25 told me about Earl opening about a month ago. She said the selection is not as big as DTD, they ate at the Fort Pierce service plaza. Said the prices were about the same that they have in Disney.
