Hi,
Can anyone recommend some ear plugs for my 4 yr. old son, and tell me where you got them from? Loud noises really bother him now and I think they'd be good to have.

Thanks!

My son uses them regularly. He is older but has extremely narrow ear canals (can't even ear standard ear buds). We get those that you roll in your fingers to make narrow then they expand in the canal. I buy in bulk but can get them at stores by hunting supplies, or construction areas. Have seen by pharmacy in Walmart, but make sure you look for some that are as soft as possible for comfort. (ps We have also picked them up in First Aid at the WDW parks when we ran out).

Mack's are silicone ear plugs that you roll into a ball and then put in their ear. They're about $5/box at CVS or you can find several stores online to order them from. Just make sure you get the child size. They are bright orange because they're designed to be easily spotted if they fall out while swimming. My DS has tubes and we always use Mack's.

My DS is very sensitive to noise and last time we were at WDW we had to get him something b/c he was just out of control. Even the echo of the stucco walls in the condo bothered him. We just went to the closest drugstore and bought him these bright orange putty kind. They stayed in real well and came with a little case and we proceeded to use that same case of them for the next year. They came in very handy. One time I finally tried them myself and found that they didn't decrease the noise level as much as I thought, but did take the edge off. This trip, my DS is now 5, I am bringing those and also bring sound muffling headphones. There were times (especially in some of the vaulted ceiling restaurant) that were really too much for him. I was surprised how noisy it was just walking along the paths in MK. Good luck to you!

we bought my son the type of headphone that gun users wear (also worn by folks that work on run ways and high noise jobs). you can get them at a sporting goods store very inexp. i also got myself a pair that i use when i get a migrane (helps a great deal).

i tend not to use earplugs because both myself and son are prone to ear infections, and the earplugs seem to increase our chances of getting them.
