Ear piercings..

Our daughter is 9 and we said she could get her ears pierced when she turned 10.

I am going to try to talk my wife into letting us suprise her a few months early when we go to Disney this Oct.

Is there anywhere in WDW where we could get her ears pierced?

I think it would be a magic moment for her to get them done down at Disney vs at the mall. (or me on the Jersey shore when I was 21 and umm drinking!) But hey, we won't tell her that!

I would strongly recommend against this. newly pierced ears hurt and are sore, who wants that on vacation? Newly pierced ears need to be cleaned twice a day, so add that to the morning list of things to do and before bed too

Then there is the chance of infection. It happens. Again, not something you want to deal with on vacation. If you want her ears pierced before vacation, i would do it 4-6 weeks before. That is the amount of time before she can start swapping out earrings and how fun to buy her first new earrings after the starteds at disney!

I agree. My DDs got their ears pierced at the pediatricians office when they were 6 months old and never would I trust the mall or disney to do it.

I do not think there is a place that does piercing on Disney Property....so it may not be possible. I think you would have to go to a mall or something anyway. Is it even a good idea to be in a swimming pool after getting pierced?? I would worry about infection. It's probably a better idea to get it done before or pick out Disney earrings and then get them pierced at home.

Completely agree!

I would suggest getting them pierced 6 weeks or so before the trip so that they are completely healed and ready for an earring change. Then you could let her buy a really nice pair of Disney themed earrings as a souvineer.

There is no place on Disney property where you can get ears pierced.

I agree with the other posters.

When my DDs got their ears pierced (2 DDs, 5 sets of holes on separate occassions), we were told not to get them wet other than hair washing and not to go swimming until they were healed.

The cleaning and turning twice a day is very important and would be easy to forget at WDW.

My DD 7 had hers done about 4 weeks ago at the mall. They were sore the first night but not after that. She can swim and do normal activity. She has to clean them three times a day, and immediately after swimming.

We have had no problems, but I would agree to do them early so she can pick new earrings at disney... plus it would be a pain to bring the cleanser along! She loves them and is counting the days until she can change them at 6 weeks!!
