No.

You cant get tattoos either.

There is a Claire's Boutique in the Lake Buena Vista Outlets on SR 535.

I believe they do it and it's only 2 or 3 miles away.

Claire's is a big NO NO! They use piercing guns which retract and can keep small amounts of blood trapped inside. I would suggest a dr.s office or a piercing salon.

I second going to a doctor or a salon that does piercing. It's a scarier looking system (needle) but it's more sanitary and works better for doing the job properly IMHO.

I have three piercings in each ear.

One pair was done at Claire's. No issues. They used a gun.

The second and third pairs were done at Piercing Pagoda with a gun. No issues.

If you decide to take this route, please take a photo of the DR's face when you tell him / her that you are there for ear piercing.

Hate to tell you, but kids ask for ear piercing at earlier ages - and it is the norm. Try buying non-pierced earings at an average store. Uh-uh. Nope.

My Zoe, age 5, has asked. She sees other kids in class with pretty earings and wants to get it done, but not enough to press the issue. (We almost had her done as a baby, but then never got around to it until it was too late and she was in the torture/freak out age - you have a small window of opportunity until about 9 months. There is no pain for them if you do them as a baby and it is easier to keep clean and sterile.)

I had mine done with a gun and no issues. The ear is not as vascular as other body parts, therefore leaving less blood in its wake. Another words, it is highly doubtful that you will get blood-transferred diseases from an ear piercing gun. If that was the case, those suckers would have been banned years ago.

They are also the most efficient way to pierce a kid's ears that may do one needle in a MD's office and then freak - leaving you with a one-sided pierce job and the kid with a lot of teasing at school. They will often do two guns at once and be done within seconds....

Just a heads up: When I got my 2nd ear piercing, I was told no swimming for 2 weeks so I'd wait if I were you.

You don't want your child to not be able to enjoy the swimming pool at Disney.

I have to agree with the suggestion of finding a piercing place with a good reputation. We learned this at Diabetes Camp, of all places. A parent was telling us that when her daughter ( NOT the one with Diabetes) had her ears pierced the first time, at Claire's, she got such a raging infection that they had to let the hole close and wait months before trying again. The doctor there reinforced this. The piercing guns cannot be taken apart completely to be cleaned and so you literally leave with 'pieces' of the people who were pierced before you - gross, but I don't know how else to describe it.

When DD turned 13 we allowed her to get hers done (she had been asking for years!). I took her to a local piercing parlor and we had a great experience. The woman who did them walked her through every step of what she was doing, told her never to get a piercing where they did not open new and sterile equipment just for you and took her step by step through the care she needed to do at home to ensure they would stay clean. Since DD is a swimmer, this was really important.

Gotta' be careful, it a Petri Dish out there!

When my friend got her ears pierced as a kid right before vacation, they wound up getting infected and they had to cut their vacation short. So I totally agree with this.

I third (fourth? fifth?) waiting and getting it done at a piercing salon, not claires or another mall area. Aside from all the health concers, most of the people at the malls don't get proper training and you might get stuck with an "off" hole. I had my third hole (I have four in one ear) done at claires and the girl messed it up completely. And I didn't realize until it was too late to close up. So now I am stuck with a diagonal earring hole (the piercing doesn't go straight through, but tilts downward). There was much compensating done for my top hole.

LOL, I know and my daughter already has her ears pierced! I took her to the mall, they didn't use a gun though, but a one time device that was used once and thrown away. I took her at age 3 when my wife was out of town

I have 4 holes in my left and 6 in my right ear. My first piercing was when I was about 8/9 at a piercing salon in Red Bank. All the rest were at piercing pagoda. I too had no problems,nor, was I told that I was not allowed to swim for 2 weeks following the piercing. I did, however, had to be cautious of when i was getting my ears pierced because I was a runner all through high school and could not wear jewelry during meets. I think that does for every sport, though.

I would wait until after vacation though. With all the running around on vacation...you may not have the time to clean the piercing properly. Besides...they are kinda sore at first which may make her a little cranky on vacation.

Actually I already have my pierced also, well just my left one from High School When I was in school boys didn't' pierce both ears.
