Hi everyone,
Does anyone have anyone ideas on how to clear up a ear infection from hack.

Have been to doctor give some antiobitocs for my ear infcetion and ear drops and my ears still have not clear up. I still have ear pain, it's like swishing sound in my ear, here fluid drain in ear, pressure is aweful and have earing lose in one ear.

Can anyone help.

You probably need a different antibiotic. If the ones you were on didn't clear it up it is time to try something else. Taking something like Dimatap will help thin out the gunk in your ear and help it drain easier, too.

No advice just good vibes my DD had an ear infection right now.... lack of sleep for everyone.

:goodvibes

You may need a stronger antibiotic. Don't delay contacting your Dr., last year I had a wicked ear infection and my eardrum ruptured. It took two rounds of biaxin (not sure of the spelling) to get rid of the infection.
I feel your pain, ear infections are truly awful.

That's thing I am on my second round of antibotics and still not helping.

Sometimes a different or stronger antibiotic does the trick. The antibiotic you are currently taking, have you taken it before? Maybe you have developed a resistance to it?
Ibofrofen helps for the pain, it's an anti-inflammatory.
Hope you get relief soon!

First question: what is hack?

Second, try warming a damp towel in the microwave--be careful not to get it too hot!!--and then lay on your side with the towel over your ear. Sometimes the heat and steam can relieve the pressure. (Keep the sore ear on the up side.)

Have you gone back in to have it looked at again? Maybe it is something other then an ear infection. I thought I had an ear infection and it turned out to be permanent hearing loss, not to scare you but it would be worth checking out.

Is your second round of antibiotics the same medicine as you took before?

I think the word "hack" is supposed to be a 4 letter word we cant type here on the disboards. Anyway, I've also had an ear infection. You need Biaxin. It's the only thing that will get rid of mine. Last year I got one right before our Disney trip. The dr also put me on prednisone with the Biaxin but not this time. Going to an Ear,Nose and Throat Dr is better when you have a severe infection, imo. Good luck I know the pain you're going through! The ear that is infected has been ringing for about a week now-driving me CRAZY.

I'm not familiar with hack, but my kids have gotten many ear infections over the years. My daughter had one so bad one time that we had been to the doctors about 4 or 5 times to try and clear it up. Finally, by the last trip, it was better. If it wasn't better that trip though, the next option was a specialist.

I talked to him about trying vinegar. A former co-worker of mine swore by it, but I wasn't ever willing to try it. He actually told me to use it regularly at the 1st sign of ear trouble with my kids and to always use it after swimming. He said it can't hurt them at all.

I have no idea if hack is different than a normal ear infection, but it might be worth a shot?

I've also heard peroxide, but I've never talked to a physician about that. A google search might help though if you'd want to see if it could help?

These would work for an OUTER ear infection like swimmer's ear but most ear infections are inner ear and putting vinager or peroxide into your ear wouldn't help at all.

My 3 year old son has been fighting the same ear infection since Sept 8. Right now he is on his 4th antibiotic right now and he will be on this one till Nov 6th when we go in to see if it's cleared up.

my son had a very bad ear infection. Dr said it was both outer and inner. Therefore he needed to be on both drops and antibiotics. Maybe you need both. You shouldn't have to go back to dr. He should be able to call you in something else. If it continues they may have to do a culture to get the right antibiotic.

Well, I was intrigued and ran a google search and this seems to be accurate. I'm a medical dummy, but find it odd that I wasn't told this when I asked the pediatrician. My daughter's ear was from swimming, but it was BAD! It didn't seem like it was ever going to clear up. Maybe he assumed I'd know the difference though?

For anyone who is interested though, during my search, I seen that vinegar is a great way to keep your dog and cat's ears cleaned.

Yep, swimmer's ear is an outer ear infection and is treated with the topical drop-type stuff. An inner or middle ear infection is impervious to that stuff and requires an antibiotic. Although, the "new school of thought" says that these will resolve on their own eventually.

hack suppose been h*ll I was trying not to curse.
