Ear Gages . . .Why?

I've been seeing alot of kids with ear gages lately.(I work in a h.s.) and I'm slightly baffled about it.

Not sure why anyone wants holes in their earlobes? I have this one kid who has HUGE holes . . .it looks so . . .ewwwwwwwwww

Anyone know what the purpose is of having enormous earlobe holes?

Well, it's not a new thing, and your post is a great example of why some people do it.

It gets a reaction out of you and it doesn't matter if it's negative or positive.
And a form of self-expression that most people won't like.
