OMG i have just gone online to book tickets for the Eagles at the Nia £75 per ticket and £8.75 service charge!!! We love the eagles but not that much, we go to see a tribute band called the illegal eagles they are very good so we would rather pay to see them a few times than be ripped off.

Well, that's the difference in this country, some people are happy to see and buy ripoffs, others of us want to see the real thing!

So pleased that I have got tickets to see the best band in the world, so its cost me £256 for three tickets, so what? you only get to see the real thing probably once in your life, the boys who wrote the songs, and NO karaoke band can EVER come close to that! :)

I take it you have never seen the illegal eagles then you wouldn't say that if you had. I saw the real eagles last time they toured but now they are just money grabers definately not worth that sort of money!!

I agree with Dee here, the original band are of course fantastic, but the Illegals are excellent. Why do the orginals who have made millions feel the need to charge that sort of money. Surely 30 odd quid is more than enough, 75 pound is up there with stadium ticket prices.

My sister about 4 years back wanted to see Madonna at the Man City ground, Maine Road. It would have cost her something like 70 quid each. In the end they went to see her in Paris on a coach trip at the Parc D Prince. It only cost her about another 50 quid and she got 2 nights in Paris and breakfasts thrown in.

It always seems the same to me in the Uk, the first priority of anyone in the entertainment industry is to take as much money off you as they can.

I am only thankful that we didnt get the EuroDisney Park, can you imagine!

What a load of doo,doo.

The illegal eagles are just wannabies, who make their "rip off" money from copying true talent. Which of the Eagles songs did they write? why do they not sell their own albums in the volumes of the Eagles? Because they are just Karaoke band players without their own talent to make it in the big time.

If you saw as you say, the Eagles, then your comments about ticket prices are spurious.

I take it that your hubby/Boyfriend never goes to a football match? do you know how much a ticket for a game now costs? you will spend DOUBLE the ticket cost of an eagles concert to see football for 3 hours!

Those prices are the going rate for most decent concerts today, and to equate seeing some sad wannabies with the real thing is ridiculous.

I have seen these sad ripoff lookalike bands before (ABBA, Celine Dion, the Bee gees etc..) and am not impressed with any of them. they are the true rip off's I prefere to buy the albums of the real talent instead of wasting my money on "Star for a night" saddoes.

Its funny that the Eagles tickets have virtually sold out, so not many people take the same line as you. I am sure you can find other things to spend your cash on.
TCD over Virgin/BA/American I would imagine is your philosophy.....

Come to stoke on saturday night to see some real talent this will make you change your mind about these "wanna bees" they are a very talented band the guitarist had his own band in the 70's and has toured with Bonnie Tyler and Chris de Burgh plus other well known artists. The lead singer has the voice of an angel. How can you justify £30 more in 2 years for a ticket to see the same band I will enjoy myself just as much on saturday night in stoke and still be able to afford to go and have a nice meal afterwards. oh by the way the abba tribute i have seen mime they are not live and no my husband does not go to see over rated no talent footballers.

Well, for a start Stoke? no way! :rotfl:
They may be in your eyes "talented" but in other peoples eyes other karaoke bands and simgers are talented as well. being able to sing other peoples songs does not make you talented, in fact its just the opposite, a fact lost on many singers in the charts these days.

A voice of an angel? so you hear voices of people with wings attached to their backs do you? :rotfl: :rotfl: How do you know what an angel sounds like?

His own band in the 70's eh? must have been good ans they don't seem to be in existance now.
I know of many bands who tour with the good singers, does not mean that they are not karaoke singers, in fact the ABBA wannabies have toured as a second band last year.

hi Dee

I agree with you completely, 75 quid for a ticket is ridiculous, I paid less than 30 to see Clapton about 4 years back, why shuould the Eagles suddenly feel than can charge more than twice as much

Steve

I thought Karoeke was people singing along to tapes. These guys can play live and don't need a backing band behind them to make them sound good, you have your opinion i have mine. oh by the way i didn't say i couldn't afford to go just sensible enough not to be robbed oh and we do fly virgin

Hi Steve at least we have seen them and know what we are talking about We have seen them 3 times this year and are going to stoke saturday and cheltenham in 2 weeks

Well, Clapton tickets are now £50 for his 2006 concerts and that's just him on his own, so equating to four members would be £200 a ticket.

I agree with you Deedee and also what Steve said about 'rip off Britain' an awful lot of groups/artists in all sorts of genres are cheaper to see abroad! whether the extra costs are down to roadies wages in this country or the stadium charges or something I don't know but if you like your local band more then they'll definately be worth seeing twice or more for the same money!

karaoke is singing other peoples songs, either with backing tapes or with instruments, so yes, they are karaoke singers.

I don't need to put my hand into live wires to know they would kill me, and in the same way I know that a band who sing other peoples songs are a wannabe ripoff band.

How much are your tickets for this ripoff band? £30? you are being robbed of £29,99p !

I bet you wear knocked off copies of real designer clothes as well! :teeth:

carole,
costs are more in the UK than abroad, wages for example are much higher in the UK than eastern Europe for example.
The cost for a worker in production in the uK is around £8.75 per hour, in eastern Europe its €5 (£3.36) we all know that fuel costs, hotel costs and everything else is higher in the UK. If we were all to take huge salary reductions then we could have concerts etc the same price as Europe.

I am being serious now go see them they really are good they only play theatres not on the pub circuit.

I have heard of them DeeDee, I am sure they are good at what they do, but I really dont like mee too bands. I prefer bands who play their own music, I feel that to buy tickets to "Cover bands" is a rip off. I get really annoyed when I pay for concert tickets and get ABBA wannabies as the first act!

Sorry. :)
