Good move or bad move to name Vick as the starter?

Next weekend is going to be interesting to see McNabb back in Philly..

I hope the Redskins kick their behinds. And as a Cowboy's fan that was difficult for me to say.

Not an Eagles fan, but I think it is a decent move on their part. He's still got it (though he's lost a step or two).

Not an Eagles fan but if I were one of his players I wouldn't be too happy. On Sept 19, he said:

Eagles coach Andy Reid told reporters before Sunday's game that Kevin Kolb will be the Eagles' starter next week against Jacksonville, barring complications.

and on Sept 20

Eagles coach Andy Reid said Kevin Kolb will be the starting quarterback at Jacksonville on Sunday, despite a pair of impressive performances by Vick.

I know the argument about its only business but really, it pretty much stinks and ignores the axiom that a player doesn't lose his job due to injury.

Living in Atlanta, I am Not a big Vick fan, really thought he would get nailed over the birthday party fiasco. Philly has no real choice, he is their best option and appears to be trying on the field again. He lied to team officials here , claiming it was his cousin and not he involved in the dog fighting and convinced them thoroughly that there was no way he would be in trouble. He told them to go ahead and trade Matt Schaub to Houston and did away with his competition for the starting job. 2 weeks later he was indicted and apologized for lying to the team, fans, teammates etc. He has absolutely no loyalty to his team so Look out Philly.

As an Eagles fan, I say this is an absolutely terrible decision. The team has no Offensive Line, and the defense gave up 30+ points to Shaun Hill and the Detroit Lions?!?!?

The argument of Vick gives the team, "the best chance to win," is 100% false, because this team does NOT have the talent to win anything this year. So, now Kevin Kolb, the guy who was beaten into our heads as the "future of the franchise" will sit ANOTHER season and miss out on more development.

I hope for Kevin's sake he gets out. He has been outright lied to by the front office and his own COACH. They are basically killing his career.

This whole scenario, from trading McNabb (because of Kolb), givng Kolb 1/2 of a game as a starter (in which he received a concussion courtesy of the aforementioned O-Line), telling everyone Kolb is STILL the starter on Monday, and then saying Vick is the starter (for the rest of the season) not 24 hours later is absolutely disgusting.

I will root for the team on Sunday, as a fan, but I will NOT be spending any of my money on any merchandise that will go to support a gang of greedy liars in the front office.

Yeah, this move ticked me off.

I thought the object of the game was to field the best team possible in hopes of making it to the super bowl? Unless that objective has now changed to place a mediocre team on the field in order to satisfy the general public.

Kolb was no ball of fire coming out of college and to think that he will ever be a franchise builder is a long shot at best.

Vick hasn't been on the field enough for me to say whether or not he's as good as he used to be pre jail but I'm willing to bet good money Kevin Kolbs won't bring in a division championship let alone a ring.

Good move, no position is guaranteed.

While I don't condone what Vick did, everyone deserves a second chance. If God can forgive him, so can I!

That said, I'm not much of a football fan, but my DS15 is a HUGE Eagles fan and he's happy with the QB decision!

I love my Eagles, but as an animal lover, I'm NOT a fan of Vick. However, as a PP said, if God can forgive him, so can I. And if he will help win games, then I'm all for it.
