DS17 is going to an Eagle Scout induction ceremony or whatever they are called. Is this a gift giving situation, should he bring something?

if he is close to the Eagle, a gift is nice.. Most people give an Eagle card ( gotten from the local council) with anywhere from $5 - $25.

My friends son has his ceremony next week, I am just going to give him a check for 50.00.

I wonder if Hallmark carries them too :lmao:. The ceremony is for 2 of his friends-they are twins. Thanks.

Oig we have to go to sooo many of them. It's called a court of honor.

A gift is nice but definitely not required.

You may want to make sure to have DS dress nice (khakis and polo) as there are sometimes dignitaries at these ceremonies . Our state representative and our congressmen (or women) often show up.

no gift is required, but it is acceptable. Think of how hard these boys work to achieve such a rank. It is a huge accomplishment. If your son is close to the Eagle scout inductee then I would say for sure a gift would be nice.

It is an Eagle Scout Court of Honor.
Yes - Hallmark does carry cards for this occasion, or a congratulations card is fine. Boy Scout council offices will also have a selection of cards.
Many people do choose to give a gift or card for this occasion.

Congrats to his friend on achieving the rank of Eagle.

I like to give a proof $1 "Silver Eagle" coin minted in the year that the Scout earned his Eagle.

no gifts are given or considered around here...

cards, yes-

I have 2 sons, and 2 Eagle Scouts - their Godmother gave them an Eagle glass statue....

when they first joined the troop and started going to Eagle Ceremonies, within our troop we were told, no gifts..

DBF was given a beautiful picture of an Eagle, we hung it in our room but it was ruined by smoke/water when we had our fire. I'm always looking for one to replace it but no such luck. He also received monetary gifts from family and a binder full of letters of congratulations from our governor and President Bush. Unfortunately those too were smoke damaged. :( I'm trying to find an Eagle figurine for him as well as the picture, he is very proud of his Eagle Scout status. :)

I have two Eagles (27&23now) and yes it is called a Court of Honor. :goodvibes

No gifts are required but please people remember that these young men have done allot and I mean allot to reach the rank of Eagle Scout. AND year after year it gets harder and harder to reach Eagle as the BSA is continually changing the requirements. I saw a difference in the 4 years my DSons were reaching for that goal. ::yes::

A card is perfect but a small gift, be it money or something Eagle related is awesome! :goodvibes

My DH and his brother are both Eagles, our oldest DS is an Eagle and 17 yo DS is finishing his Eagle Scout project. I'm proud of them all. DS received a lot of cards, and some gifts and some money for his Court of Honor.
