Geez, I wish I would've been given more notice so I could play it one last time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They're not really closing it, I believe they're redesigning it.

Eagle Pines will close for good on Tuesday. They will start ripping out trees to make room for multiple single family homes, times shares, and a Four Seasons resort. Eventually Osprey Ridge will be turned over and re-designed for said resort. All of the land has left RCID and is back in the hands of Orange County.

That makes sense.....can't have the public actually living (and being able to vote) in the RCID. But it sure would be cool to be able to use Lake Buena Vista as a home address!! (or is this development in Bay Lake, Florida?)

Help me out here folks. Even though we have been to WDW umpteen times since 1988, I cannot pinpoint where Eagle Pines is. Is it the area near Wilderness Campgrounds {where those big golf tees are?} where a DVC resort was going to go originally before they pulled that idea and did SSR instead? I know a lot of folks around here can load maps onto the these boards. Could someone please do that for me so that I can see exactly where Eagle Pines is? Thanks!

Are these 2 areas going to be Disney owned/run? I'm not sure I understand the concept.

Last time we were there, a CM told us that there was talk of cutting a waterway from that area to the Bay Lake/7 Seas Lagoon area to give the Four Seasons hotel/area water access to the MK. Any word on that?

What Orlando Mike might also have mentioned is that the Sand Trap--the best "secret" lunch spot at WDW--will also fall by the wayside in this land "sell off".

Well you answered your first question yourself! :lmao: No it will not be Disney. Disney sold the land to the Four Seasons.

As far as "cutting" a waterway.....not necessary. Just get on the map posted above and navigate around, you will see there is already a decent waterway "Bonnet Creek" that goes from the Eagle Pines area right to Bay Lake.

Uncleromulus, they are still saying the Sandtrap and Osprey Ridge will be open till 2010.
