I did good with Wii Fit earlier in the year but it wasn't all that hard of a workout. Now I am doing the 30-day challenge on EA Sports Active prior to our next cruise...two days down, and I've worked up a good sweat both days. Anyone else doing it it? If so, have you ever had trouble with the numchuck picking up certain moves? It doesn't like to register a certain type of lunge for me, so it hangs up and breaks the flow of my routine until it finally realizes I am lunging.

Also, if you did the 30-day challenge, what did you do on the off days? I was going to start a weekly class at the gym, but the days don't coincide and it's a really kick-butt class. I think I'll just do swimming or some Wii Fit games in between.

I'd be interested to hear from fellow EA Sports Active users. I've been doing Walk Away the Pounds DVDs but this is more of a challenge, which is what I need right now.

I just ordered this from Gamestop for $29 and free shipping. Would love reviews as well.

I'm several days into the 30 day challenge now, and overall I love it! The only things I don't like are the fact that it doesn't like to register my movements correctly for some exercises and you have to transition quickly...for example, between an exercise where you hold both controllers and then one where you have to put one controller in the leg band. Other than that, I love the variety and it's a fairly short workout (around half an hour) but I am sweating when it is done.

I just got active for Christmas so I just started the 30 day challenge a few days ago. I will be doing workout 4 today. I love it!!! I get such a sweat from it. I needed something to drop some pounds before I head to Disney World in march. :cool1:

Every so often the controls don't seem to register properly but it fixes itself quickly.

I'm just wondering about the holder going on your leg- is it fairly big? I don't have the smallest thighs right now :rotfl: and am worried it won't fit or other question- do you need to use it on your leg for all the games on EA sports?

Thanks

Mine came with something that looks like an extension piece so you should be fine (I didn't actually read the instructions, LOL!). You don't use it for all of the exercises. In some you hold a controller in each hand. It's for things like running, walking, jumping and lunges.

I got the EA Sports Active More Workouts for Christmas. I plan on using it next week in conjunction with the other game. On days off I would do other Wii Games or use my elliptical or do Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds!
I love the Wii Fit Plus! That has a lot of fun games too!

great, thanks for the info- I think I may get both of the games to keep it interesting in addition to the treadmill and total gym.

Of course, I know they only work if you use them right:rotfl2:

i got it for xmas and plan on trying it tomorrow. my sister uses it every morning and loves it!

OK just finished day 5 or workout 4 on the 30 day challenge....WOW I just had my butt kicked! It was a hard workout but I feel great.

wow... my legs feel like they are gonna fall off. they don't even feel like this after a 10 min. run or a week in the "world". So far I LOVE IT!!!

My husbands going to shoot me. :D I've been wondering about this game for the Wii. It sounds like a really great work out though. :D May have to buy it with the next pay check!

I am seriously considering purchasing the ea Active game for the Wii, and looked at what equipment comes with it online. I have to ask: the leg sensor thing-y - is it roomy enough to take larger size leg/thigh? I am not exactly slim, but I would be willing to invest in any workout that makes it fun, but it has to fit too. I did find that the Wii board does have a weight limit, & I'm over that weight.

TIA!

There is an extension for the leg strap if needed. If you buy the EA Sports Active it comes with the leg strap. I don't know if you can get the More workouts one with a strap as well or not. I loved the original and got the More Workouts for Christmas. I will try it either tonight or tomorrow. You can do the workouts with or without the balance board. You choose whether to use the board or not.

My DD hates fussing with the strap and will just put the nun chuck upside down in her pocket. I would think you could even modify the strap with a little work if you needed to.

I'd also suggest getting real work out bands and using them with the cloth handles that come with it. The band is puny/weak and not much of a work out even if you're in bad shape.

I love EA Active, it's the best thing I've done for myself in a long time. I have More Work Outs too and like it also though it takes some getting used to.

I just started using the Wii active last week. I am doing the 30 day challenge. My only complaint is that I have bad knees, so doing the lunges causes me quite a bit of pain. I have not been able to find a way to skip those exercises. If I could just opt out of the lunges, it would be great!

I have also had some trouble with the leg strap staying in place during the running portions. Maybe I'll try putting it in my pocket.

When it gives you the list of exercises just click on the box for lunges, it will put a red x there and take them out. Also if you forget to take them out you can bring up the menu and select skip this exercise. I do this for the jump squats and jump lunges. I have no problem with the roller blade jumps or basketball jumps but I can't do the side ones without ending up hurt. A tip for lunges (and squats) is to make sure to keep your body in alignment and make sure your knees are behind your shoe laces. I still get achy knees but not so bad that I want to skip them if I use good form. I also read an article that said if you have knee pain it's actually because your hips are weak and it throws things out of wack. So maybe try some stretches/exercises for your hips.

My battle is with the stupid fast kick ups, I just can't move that fast. So I just jog, the trainer berating me the whole time, lol.

I tried clicking on the boxes and putting the red x there the last time, but it still included the exercises. I'm still learning my way around the Wii. How do you bring up the menu so that I can select skip and not end up having to start all over?

Hmm...Are you clicking them after you've chosen work out? Select your profile, 30days workout, then workout and it's that list. To bring up the menu press the minus button and then use the little hand to select "skip this exercise."
