I was reading a book on Disney yesterday and it mentioned getting an E-ticket. Didn't go into enough detail though so... Anyone have any info on what it is and where you would get one? TIA

The only reason you'd want one is if you're a collector! It used to be when you went to Disney you purchased a book with tickets in it...A's thru E's. The E's were the big rides...Space Mountain, etc.

Maybe I'm completely lost here...are you talking about EE...as in early entry?

I can't imagine any current travel guide mentioning E tickets. Hm.... :confused3

Hi Vicki,

It could be you were reading an outdated book about "E-Ticket Nights" when a few years ago WDW resort guests used to pay extra to stay in the MK for 3 hours past closing time.

That program has been replaced by "Extra Magic Hours." There is no cost for EMH and if you are not familiar with EMH you can find the details here:

Oh odd... I just got the 2006 version of Disney for Dummies :rotfl2: and it says the E-ticket is still available. I see the price is $12 to stay 3 extra hours in the MK...

OK so the definite answer LOL! I called the disney line and it IS still available. I guess they use it for peak times though because there are no nights scheduled for awhile.

I think that the CM you spoke to was wrong, E-nights have not been held for over a year now, we went in June of 2004 and they had the E-nights then, the cost was $12.00 and it was only held in the MK, the park was open for 3 hours for resort guests that had bought the ticket. At that time they early entry, in the morning, it was held in a differnt park each day.
In 2005 they started EMH which provides either an early entry in the AM or the parks stay open 3 hours later in the evening. Once EMH began they did away with the E-nights.

Whoever you spoke to is very uninformed.
Disney used to have E-ticket nights at the Magic Kingdom. If you were staying onsite you could purchase a ticket for $12 that allowed to access to the Magic Kingdom for 3 extra hours past closing. This was also limited as they only so many tickets. This wasn't every night.

NOW, if you are staying onsite at a Disney resort, you can stay an extra 2 hours (I think or 3) at certain parks at certain days. This includes ALL parks. You can also enter certain parks on certain days 1 hour prior to opening.

As Helen said, it appears the CM you spoke with was reading the same book you were!!

E-Ticket nights no longer exist. The last one was in August 2004.

I miss the old E-nights. Kind of special being with a select number of WDW guests inside the MK late into the night.

LOL I love when the Disney people know just as much as I do! Oh well, we'll just use the EMH

Even though there are no more A-B-C-D-E tickets, many guidebooks still refer to the big, headliner rides as "E-Ticket" rides.
