We fly with VA on Monday.:yay:We booked our tickets through Continental as they were cheaper than booking through VA.:confused3 All we have received is an email from Continental. At the top it says "eTicket itinerary and Receipt for Confirmation ABCDE1. It then lists all our names and the time of the flights. Is this all I need to take with me to Gatwick. I keep having a nightmare that we will arrive at the Virgin desk and they will ask for something that we don't have. Do I need to take anything else apart from the obvious? ie passports, etc. Thanks for your help.

All you do is take it to the check in desk. That code will hold all your details and they will print off your boarding passes. :)

Two more things. Can we still do online check-in 24 hours before the flight? On our return can we still use the Downtown Disney check-in facility? Would we now have to pay extra for this? Sorry. That's 3 things. Maths was never my strongest point!!!

Don't see why you would have a problem doing OLCI, we are on a KLM ticket but fly with Delta, never had a problem.
Flight only you have to pay for DTD check in, only free for holidays & flydrives.

I don't suppose you know the cost of DTD check in do you? I've looked at threads which say it's 10 dollars, but those threads were over 2 years old.

Not done it for years, I prefer to do OLCI and take to airport, never been a fan of DTD checkin, it was $5pp then went upto $10pp, think its still same.

Its still $10 pp although it is free for Flying Club Gold, Upper Class, Virgin Holidays customers and under 2s that do not have their own seat.

You can do all things just like you're used to when booking through VA. With an e-ticket, you don't need to take anything with you*. The print basically is for your own convenience. They check your paspport, look up your ressie based on that and you're done. Even if things go 'hick-up'**, you've got more than enough with that ABCDE1 number.

With that number they can look up anything and everything hooked to it. When the booking was made, if there were any changes made, you name it. Heck, if you've got a savvy enough attendant they can even look up how many times you've changed your seating arrangements and from which seat to which. ;)

We always fly with e-tickets, have been doing so for a couple of years now. Always check in without anything other than our passport. Very easy, friendly on both customer, flight attendant working the check in desk and environment (no unneeded paper used)

* some airlines want you to present the creditcard used to purchaged the ticket with, in which case it'll be stated clearly in the T&C. Bookings through continental.com don't have this requirement. (nor does VA, just looked it up)

** Don't sweat fearing a hick-up!! E-tickets are the norm for most airlines nowadays and have been around for years. Thousands get used daily, a hick up is very very very rare. Even if it does, they'll be able to fix things and get you on your way.

We are going with Virgin but booked through Travel City Direct. I have queried the DTD charge and have an email dated Saturday that states it's $10 per person, not per bag, so $20 for 4 bags seems more than reasonable to me.

it is definitely per person, we checked in 3 bags between us and it was $20 in April. Enjoy your holiday xx
