is it just me and my family or is anyone else dissapointed that the e-ride nights have been discontinued. i know emh at night is a great idea but i dont see it being benificial except for those who are able to be awake until the very wee hours of the morning. if it is very crowded now and it isnt even at the peak season, just how crazy will it be during the peak season that is coming up fast.

i know it is crazy to want to pay for something you can get for free but last july we did e-ride nights 5 times and thought it was worth every dollar spent.

write to WDW and lets see if we can get anything done.

maybe if enough of fans write in maybe they will add one e-ride night into the mix. i know wishful thinking but isnt WDW in the business of making wishes come true?

I miss eride nights too! The EMH are great because we get other parks, but MK EMH nights are so crowded now, I would rather pay for the perk and have fewer people.

Yup....we haven't even experienced the evening EMH yet, but after what i've read, I wish they would bring back e-ticket nights.

I was planning on writing, so thanks for the push....

I'm not sure I understand the complaint here...

E-Ride Nights were the exact same way as I recall. The park didn't close any earlier than they are this summer to make way for E-Ride Night guests.

It's the exact same perk.

Only now it's free.

Please help me to understand why you'd rather pay for something that you're now getting for free. :flower:

We would rather pay for it because there wouldn't be nearly as many people in there as there are now! When you have to pay an addtl $12, people tend to say..."Nah, I'm not paying extra to stay in the parks late at night. We'll just do those early morning extra hours." Now, since you don't have to pay to stay the addtl 3 hours, everyone does it. I'm not sure if we will do the evening extra hours next week or not. Will definatly go to MK the morning after their evening extra hours tho!!!

what you say is definitly true about it being the exact same perk and yes the late hours are the same but during e-ride nights the crowds were very manageable. 5000 only. you very rarely ever had to wait more then a few minutes to ride whatever you chose. the only ride i ever witnessed with a long line was space mountain and that was at the beginning of e-ride time and it was just as wishes was ending so everyone seemed to go to spm first. we waited by SPM until wishes was ending and then just walked on in. when i left the ride the lines were quite long but this was the only line i wittnessed at all during our 5 times going to e-ride night this past july.

no waits for BTMRR, PP, BUZZ, SPLM, philharmagic etec. we rode splash twice before my wife managed to smoke one cigarette!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:
i havent read where on late emh this has hapened durng a time where there was "peak" attendance. not my wife smoking a cigarette but riding Splash twice in a row at peak time

honestly i havent been there to try late emh offering so I may just be getting worked up about nothing but honestly havent the majority of posts been a bit negative concerning the late emh perk.

well would like to write more but i gotta go to work. gotta make money our next trip is in 19 days

I miss the old E-night. We did the late EMH at MK May 25 and it was just as crowded, maybe a little more so, than during the day. It was 1 am before it started clearing out. Not nearly as much fun as the E-night we did the last trip where we were able to ride Buzz 13 times in a row without slowing down!

I think we'll wear black to EMH at MK in a couple of weeks just to show that our mourning period for E-rode nights has not ended! :rotfl:

We LOVED E-ride Night. We will avoid evening EMH at all parks except AK, since we're only going there for a few attractions anyway, and would like to see that park at night.

BRING BACK E-RIDE NIGHT!!! ::yes::

I'll jump on this bandwagon. Did EMH and MK last Wed. and it was soooo crowded! Finally around 1:00 a.m. it seemed like an e-night!

I too am not looking forward to emh - just knowing how early entry hours are, I cant imagine late nights being 'better', curious, is it just because its "free" that its so crowded at night? Or is it because fewer attractions are open? Or is it because fewer CM's are working?? :confused3

I miss the pure E-nights :(

i agree...the price with the limit of 5k made it seem there were shorter lines. i was waiting for e-nights to be a regular thing, but not the way emh is.

We too enjoyed E-ride last year and we're worried about EMH after the reports coming in for this year. On the good side, Morning EMH still seem not too crowded, so now we can go to sleep early to get up early for early entrance!

I also really miss E-nights. Even when it wasn't that late (such as 12 or 1AM), it wasn't as crowded as EMH. I went to WDW this past March (6-13 I believe...) and it was definitely fairly crowded.

I'm going to miss e-ride night. We had a blast the last time we were there. You'd think Disney would still do it since they charged extra for it.

I'm glad I checked out the EMH schedule again for our trip next week. There will be two nights of EMH at MK, Monday and Friday. Maybe that will help thin out the crowd. I'm going Friday and hoping those that arrive over the weekend will want to do it on Monday. I had to change dining reservations around to accomodate the new schedule, but no biggie if it will help with the crowd level.

Lets see--before they only sold so many tickets -- were able to do everthing once if not 2, 3 times.

Nowadays -- forget it---the lines are longer than the normal park hours!! My advice--do not waste your time!!

My email will be in--I would love to have E-ride nights at every park--they way it is now--but wiling to pay for the lower amount of people to enjoy and have a good time and not be unhappy. We Want ERIDE nights back!!!!

I agree about the evening EMH :sad2:

We attempted it one night during our trip in May...oh my goodness...it was at least 2 to 3 times MORE crowded than it was ALL day long. Bus after crowded bus just kept coming in. NOT enjoyable at all!

Disney sent me a survey about our day in MK and asked about the EMH. I told them how disappointed we were in the evening EMH. I don't know if it will help, but I just felt the need to let 'em know.

Now, the morning EMH..totally different story and we love it! :goodvibes

Hello all,

While I am relatively new to the DIS I am definetly not new to WDW or marketing. I too, will miss E-ride nights and hope they bring back the same program (maybe slightly tweaked so we could have e-nights at the other "major parks" as well).

The key here is profit. I know we all love Disney at this site but, we have to remember, WDW is a for profit company. And God knows when you have stockholders you want to make as big a margin as possible. So, here's the reality of EMH:

In the "good old days" (e-ride nights), Disney made an extra $12/head in the park. There were no lines so all the guests (by and large) were going from one ride to another with little or no wait. After we finish one ride we race to the next. Wouldn't you agree? That's what everyone on this thread is lamenting about, right?

Well, now Disney has us right where they want us --- in the shops and at the restaurants spending more money!!! Why, you ask? Because now, instead of jumping from ride to ride for 3 or 4 hours, you wait in line for 45-90 mins and decide you need a break before you get in line again. Some folks probably do a ride or two and spend the other few hours in a shop or eatery. So what they've done is, in essence, cram more people in selected parks with the allure of something for nothing.

So, it's not the same as some people have claimed. It's not "just like e-nights only better because it's free." To those of us who used and loved E-ride nights this is not even close. Unfortunately, the almighty dollar rules, even in the Magic Kingdom. :sad2:

Yep, I loved ERide nights too. It wasn't the price that made it work, it was the 5000 person limit.

Yes, but I doubt it's a significant extra profit because the cost of operating the stores is pretty high, and E-Ride nights didn't keep the stores and eateries open, just a few select rides and maybe one or two ice cream places, I don't remember specifically. It would work just as well to take the $12 per person and see what you can operate for that amount of money.
