Something I considered when looking for e-readers for my kids (11 and 13) is whether or not graphic novels would be supported. Nook Tablets I know support them and I believe the Kindle Fire does as well. The Nook Color doesn't at the moment but there's a software upgrade in the works right now which is expected to be released shortly that will enable the device to support graphic novels. I ordered Nook Colors for them. The Nook Color will support some apps, works on youtube and email, and supports movies and music in addition to books. The same software upgrade that'll make it compatible with graphic novels will also allow it support netflix and hulu if those are important to you. The Color also has the same ability to run off an SD card that the Tablet has. I couldn't see spending an extra $100 on the Nook Tablet when a refurbished Nook Color will do everything my kids need, just not quite as fast.
