E-mail from "MyDisney"

Today I received an email from MyDIsney, welcoming me to MyDisney. I’m not sure what this is for and I don’t’ recall signing up for this. I do have an account with https://disneyland.disney.go.com/ which was used for purchasing my Disneyland tickets in past trips. But I signed up for this account years ago. The email I received today seems to be as if I just recently signed up for something, which I didn’t. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks!!
