DH is a smoker and has expressed interest in using an E cigarette to help quit smoking. He mentioned to the kids that it would be good for me to get him one for Christmas. I know nothing about E cigarettes. Does anyone have an experience with these that they can share?

Dh said litecigusa.net is the place he likes. He uses them all the time. Get a 900 ego battery and a vision tank. I don't know much about them but the guys at the railroad are all using them now. He said the ones that look like a real cigarette stink. Get your vapo liquid at dfwvapor.com.

I have many ex-smoker friends and they all agree, the ones that look like a real cigarette (Blu, NJoy, etc.) aren't very good. My husband switched to one of the bigger vapes with the flavor vials, and he liked it much better. His starter kit was about $50-$60,and the flavor vials are really cheap ( though the kit came with some). He had already quit, but has a lot of friends who still smoke and found it hard to be around them and not give in. It's really helped him manage the cravings, and at zero nicotine he doesn't miss smoking.

My dad is doing this! And I just convinced my sister and her husband to try it too. He uses ecigpros.com. The starter kits start at $40 and go higher. The eliquid is $15 a bottle and is the equivalent of 4 cartons of cigarettes. It costs him about $20 a month with the liquid and the replacement filters. And his came with 2 ecigs.

get him a kanger protank a variable voltage battery a package of replacement atomizers (2.2 ohm resistance) and about 60 ml of e-juice.

I would suggest getting a "sample" pack of flavors (ie: 10ml bottles 6 different flavors) so he can experiment with flavors. also get a dripping atomizer so he can experiment with flavors. send me a priv ksg if you would like more information or links or have questions.

I got my first esmoke kit aug 21 of this year. I smoked my last analogue on aug 21 of this year. I am a passionate evangelizer for this quit smoking method and would he more than happy to help.

correction. a kanger protank 2 is highly superior to the original protank.

:thumbsup2 all except mtbakervapor.com for cheaper good tasting liquid. (according to my ecig son who is cheap)

Java let your son know he can make his own way cheaper even! My dh does that sometimes and customize a bit more. I know he even has an app for "recipes" lol.

I could use some E Vicodin right now

low-key LOL. You know, here in California with a marijana license (whatever it's called) you can now buy E Marijana cigs. The pot comes in liquid form in a pre-loaded cartlidge. Looks exactly like my E hookah. You can't smell it :scared1: I smell trouble with these though. I just googled and found this. http://stlouis.cbslocal.com/2013/11/07/e-cigarettes-make-marijuana-smoke-virtually-undetectable/ I don't know very much about this - but I have seen one.

The E cig helped me quit. The E hookah is great to just have around. I hardly use it. And no, I don't have the other E Mary cig :) ;)

I want one so bad!!! I don't really smoke anymore (meaning it's not a regular thing but if I'm out with someone who snapped I might bum one). For me it's the habit that is hard to break, not so much te nicotine. I feel like it kind of defeats the purpose for someone like me though because I'd still be a slave to THAT habit!

The E hookah helped me break that habit as I was already off the nicotine. Now I rarely use it. But it's hear in my desk drawer if I need to.

Oh my, this whole ecig thing is so much more that Imagined. So many parts to this.

He does make his own wicks(I think that is what it is)or is it coils? He gets a bunch of the liquid from a friend that loves to make it. Cinnamon bun is the current one.

The only problem with the ones that look like regular cigarettes is that the batteries don't last very long, so you have to make sure you have several so you can be charging one while using another. And the batteries are generally good for a certain number of charging cycles. So a smaller battery means you are charging it more often and it doesn't last as long before needing to be replaced.
Besides the battery, the next choice is whether to use a cartomizer or a clearomizer (tank looking thing).
The advantage of a clearomizer is that you can see how much liquid is in it so you can keep it filled without overfilling or letting it run dry. They also tend to last longer than cartomizers.
But I've tried a few different clearomizers and haven't liked them that much because the vapor isn't warm, so you can't feel it as much.

As far as liquid, you just need to try a number of different flavors to see what you like. I've had some that I thought were horrible and some that I love. I can't stand any of the tobacco flavors I've tried and I don't like anything with citrus (all tastes soapy to me). So I stick to bakery and fruit flavors.
My current setup is:
X2 batteries from Smokeless Image
Blank cartomizers from Smokeless Image
E-Liquid from Heather's Heavenly Vapes in a 70/30 VG/PG ratio (Cinful Pear and Just Peachy are my favorites). I also like Caramel Cappucino, but the coffee flavors tend to clog up the cartomizers much faster than other flavors.
I also like Cheesecake and Irish Mintz from Mad Vapes.
And I like Watermelon and RY4 from Smokeless Image. RY4 is supposedly a tobacco flavor, but it tastes more like caramel and vanilla.
Rawr Vapor has a lot of good flavors, but they tend to be too sweet, so I can't use them very long without getting sick of them.

If you don't want to spend too much and just have him try it, I'd suggest the basic starter kit from Smokeless Image, plus one extra battery, and choose one of the sample packs for the cartomizers, so he can try a few different flavors. Personally, I would pick the Strong or Sweet sample pack, but some people like the tobacco flavors.

I've been using an original Kanger Protank for several months now and absolutely love it. Are the 2's that much better? I might have to order one soon if it's that noticeable.

I order liquid a lot from Mt. Baker Vapor and they can be hit or miss, but if you find a flavor that you enjoy from them they are an excellent and low cost vendor.

The Vapor Chef has the best juice I've ever used but the cost makes it a much more costly option. Totally worth it to me though.

DH uses vapor king and he has had great results in quitting smoking with them
