Dyson Animal - Do you recommend?

Just bought one. Haven't taken it out of the box. Great price at HD couldn't not buy it. I checked Consumer Reports when I got home and they don't give it a very good rating. Give me the good, bad and ugly. What do you guys that have it think??

My dd purchased the Animal and loves it - she has a Golden Retriever and it really cleans up nice after her pup plays around on their carpets.

I have the All Floor Dyson and I love it - it cleans up the carpets great and I find it easy and light enough to use on the stairs without dragging the main part of the vac up each step with me. I find the Dyson to be a nice easy to use lightweight vacuum that does the job.

with the dyson animal...vs the All floors one..you're paying about $100 more for just the attachments. The all-floor one (yellow) picks up my dog's hair just fine.

I'm still amazed about the sucking (hehe) of this vaccumm...got it for christmas last year, love it.

Forgot to mention -- I'll be using it on carpeting and I have 2 cats -- 1 long haired. Consumer Reports had given it good marks for floors but only fair for carpeting.

I love my Dyson Animal...

It includes a tool that's great for carpeted stairs, too.

We just bought ours last month and I don't want to remember life before it. The first time we used it we had to empty the cannister four times in our main room because it picked everything up that had been left there with our previous vaccuum. It does a great job on our furniture too!

OMG -- I tried it tonight. I thought my carpeting was clean (plus in 1 room it is only 1 yr old). You would not believe the hair -- human and cat -- and dirt that it sucked up. I had to empty the canister 1/2 way through vaccuuming the 1st room. Yuck!!! If it keeps working this well, then I will be very pleased. I love the ease of empty the canister. Thanks to all for their feedback!

Can you vacuum the animal with the attachments?

Now everyone try and picture someone holding a 20lb cat down while someone else tries to vacuum it.

I'd take mine to bed with me if I could! The animal is amazing for picking up dog hair, and the attachments are worth the price IMO. I use the different attachments all the time. I will never regret buying it!

We just bought the model called the Ball, and so far we love it. My DS has been having a great time trying out all the attachments, he's really interested in how mechanical things work, hey, any way I can get him to do housework around here is great!!

We have 3 big hairy Newfoundland dogs...plus a mix...plus 6 kids...plus playmates, friends, ect that live at our home, I have the yellow one & LOVE it!!!

The ease of emptying the canister & unclogging it when dog hair & long child hair clogs it is WONDERFUL!
