Hi all!! DH and I are gearing up for a wonderful trip to WDW from 5/2 through 5/13. We’ve got lots of ressies made and plans to visit a number of Counter Service locations. I was never able to finish my last Dining Report due to some job issues, etc. But, I’m back and so excited to get this report completed in full!!!

Here’s a little background info: DH, Jim, is a BIG EATER! He loves food…nothing fancy; his favorites in The World are Mickey Bars, Crystal Palace, Krispy Treats, Liberty Tree Tavern and Kona Café. He’s not a fancy eater…he likes meat & potatoes kinda dishes…and a full plate. He is not into gourmet cooking in the least!

I’m Kerri! I’m a food lover, too. As a kid I was REALLY picky as far as eating goes. In the last 5-6 years I’ve really spread my horizons quite a bit. I find with the more traveling I do, the more I am open to eating different foods and trying new flavors. During my non-vacation time, I follow the Weight Watchers program and have lost 62 lbs since last February. I’ve been to WDW twice since then and didn’t gain any weight on either trip. When we are there I try to limit my snacking but pretty much eat anything I want during meals. I try to have breakfast in our room and keep it as healthy as possible with cereal and fruit.

My favorite things to eat when I’m at WDW are the carrot cake cookie sandwich @ The Writer’s Stop, Cape May Café clam bake, chocolate covered strawberries, funnel cake, taco salad @ Pecos Bill’s and pizza & calamari at Mama Melrose.

I should also mention that ‘Ohana used to be our absolute favorite spot for dinner...and our overall favorite meal for that matter. But, on our last two trips it was a MEGA let down. Service and food quality were just not on par for us. So, on this trip we are skipping it. I’m sad, and will miss it but we are going to give it a stab for breakfast…all is not lost!!

Here is the list of our ressies. I’ve changed these a hundred times (well, maybe not a hundred…you get the idea…) but I think I am happy with the current line-up! We’ve got some new stuff in there for us! I’m really excited about trying some new meals!

Wednesday 5/2 – Dinner – 50’s Prime Time Café

Thursday 5/3 – Lunch – Coral Reef :yay: New for us!

Friday 5/4 – Breakfast – Tusker House
Dinner – Raglan Road :yay: New for us!

Friday 5/11 – Lunch – Yak & Yeti

Next up....what Counter Service locations will we choose??? And uh-oh....DH is putting together a "must eat snack list"!!!

Sounds good! My DH and I are also trying Sanaa for the first time in May. Can't wait to hear your review on it!

Count me in, too!

DH and I are hoping to try Raglan Road on our upcoming trip (in October)... so looking forward to seeing what you think about it!

Here's DH's must have snack list for our upcoming trip. I wonder how many of these he will actually consume!!??!!

- Hot fudge sundae @ Main Street Ice Cream Parlor
- Cinnamon Roll @ Main Street Bakery
- Chocolate chip cookie ice cream sammie @ Main Street Bakery
- Ice cream cone @ Hollywood Scoops
- Pop corn (multiple boxes)
- Funnel cakes (MK and Epcot)
- Mickey bar (multiples!)
- Napoleon & Chocolate Croisant @ Boulangerie Patisserie

And I am sure he'll add more on as we go along!!

I know I always have a snack list I never complete too :lmao: If only I could borrow an extra stomach when at WDW.

Cool!! We've been trying to fit in RR for a few years now. Glad we are finally making it happen! I don't know if I am more excited for the food or the entertainment!!

Count me in Kerri!

Glad to have you along, Nicki!!!

An extra stomach....BRILLIANT IDEA!!! :rotfl:

Well...I have a little bit of sad news. We were working on our budget yesterday and had to trim a little fat off of the dining ressie list. We ended up nixing Le Cellier after going over the prices. We are on the DDP however, would have been paying for this one out of pocket.

But, it's totally ok. We are adding in another CS in World Showcase. I'll be doing up a list of our CS choices and posting it later today!! Hope everyone is having a happy Wednesday!!

Count me in too! I can't wait to read your reviews of Sanaa. We are going in September and I am on the fence about trying this place out.

I am completely on the fence to. But, we decided to take the plunge. I read a review not too long ago that raved about the food and the views. So I figured since we are going to be at AKL we might as well give it a go! Both Boma & Jiko were not appealing to DH...this seemed to be a bit more his speed!

I'll be sure to take extra pics and notes on Sanaa since you guys are really eager about this one! Can't wait!!

Sounds like a great trip! Congrats on the weight loss.

Well kids! We only have 5 sleeps left until we leave for our trip!! I will admit that sometimes I make dining ressie changes up to the last minute...and this trip is no exception.

I was reading through some threads the other day about Chef Mickey's. I chickened out about trying it again. Even with the characters there and the ambiance of being in the Contemporary...I just can't do it. Knowing that the food was so ick last time and seeing other folks reviews as of late confirming the same...I canned it!

But, the good news is that I added on a restaurant that I have read wonderful things about...AND it's new for us!!! YAY!!! So in place of Chef Mickey's we are heading to Grand Floridian Cafe!!! The menu looks fantastic! I'm already eyeballing that burger!!! Can't wait to do this review!!

Also wanted to add in some of our CS choices! In no particular order:

MK - Pecos Bill's, Columbia Harbor House, Cosmic Ray's

Epcot - Cantina De San Angel, Sunshine Seasons, Katsura Grill

Animal Kingdom - Flame Tree BBQ

Hollywood Studios - Starring Rolls, Fairfax Fare (we are interested in the gourmet hotdogs...could this be the beginning of yummy food at DHS???)

Resorts & DTD - Mara @ AKL, Goods To Go @ OKW and Wolfgang Puck Express @ DTD
