Dyeing your Crinny [DONE! PICS ADDED AND OPINIONS NEEDED!!]

Who dyed your crinnie? I'm thinking about dyeing mine yellow or red. Any thoughts, pictures, experiences, etc?

I'm a bit nervous about it.

I thought about doing this as well. I wanted to dye mine yellow too but then thought it might look like I pee'd... Just how my brain works I guess. LOL

I love this shot! So pretty! I would love to dye mine pink but pink aren't one of my colors and that'd just look funny.

I bought red dye. I'm gonna do it over the weekend. Good luck to me, eh?! I'm so scared it's going to show through my dress which is made of white taffeta.

Maybe try holding red fabric up underneath the taffeta (assuming you have the dress) and see what darker shades may possibly show through. That should help you decide whether red will work or not. And no point in ruining your crinny if it turns out the red is too dark.

Also note that the red may not turn out as dark as you would like, so it may end up pink anyway. It really depends on the material the crinny is made of (yay for working at a fabric store during high school ).

But I think yellow would be cute as well, you just have the pick the right shade. Here's a pretty one that doesn't look like you peed yourself, in my opinion.

Edit: Random thought, if red and yellow are your colors, why not try orange? Your guests wouldn't expect it, and it adds a bit more fun! It doesn't look obnoxious, either:

I dyed my daughters blue, and it turned out wonderful!!!! I have a high effeciency washer so I had to do it in the bathtub, so I just kept moving it back and forth in there until it was the color I wanted and it was EASY!!

She is also wearing blue shoes I can't wait to see it all together in November....it seems so far away.....

How nice of you to dye your daughter's crinny! I asked my Mom to do it cause I'm too afraid I'll mess it up and she said she doesn't want me to go all Bridezilla on her either.

I am "planning" to dye mine an aqua blue, so I will have "something blue".

My bridesmaids were talking about dying theirs hot pink.

My colors are black and white with red and pink flowers. I really would like a hot pink petticoat, but I'm not sure what I am going to do. I definitely want it different than my bridesmaids though.

I did it! The washer is getting bleached now as I type this...hopefully it cleans up a bit or else I'm in deep doo-doo. Anyway, I need your opinions girls. Does this look pink or red to you?

I put it over a red blanket to compare colors.

you might be able to find one on Ebay, but I've also seen on Etsy that if you send your crinny to them they'll dye it and send it back.
