Upcoming trip for Presidents week, I'm all booked with the Deluxe Dining Plan. Now DH and DS have to leave our trip 2 days early. We will still have to pay for those days. Now I wonder if I should change down to the regular plan. But, family loves appetizers and not really deserts? And they enjoy the mugs, so I would end up buying those anyways! So, now I'm second guessing everything, should I just buy the Quick Service Plan, and pay for dinners out of pocket, I have Cali Grill booked for the 5 of us, and hoopdeeDoo. They will miss our dinner at CRT. I'm almost thinking it would be better to just have the quick service plan and oay out of pocket. but what are you thoughts??? HELP!

If you're really into the dining, book a bunch of 2 credit meals after the others depart to "use up" the rest of the credits more efficiently -- you've paid for them, might as well use them.

Of course, at this late date, getting the reservations might be tough. Work out the numbers and see what's better (don't forget to include the change fees and you'll need to add taxes (6.5%) for any OOP meal).

if you are doing CRT and HDDR, the dining plan is the way to go 'cause the gratuity is included... can you maybe try to add SoA for you and the remaining travelers?

downgrading to the basic dining plan is a good choice... maybe look at the out of pocket cost for the appetizers you might want, count your credits to see if you have enough and then if the math comes out, downgrade...

of course, you can also try to get CRT for a different date (hey, i believe in miracles!) when your dh/ds are still there...

Yes, if you get a dining plan you will have to pay for all the days of the reservation for all persons listed on the reservation, even if they leave early.

If you downgrade a package reservation within 45 days of your arrival you will be charged a $50 change fee. There may be an additional $10 fee if you are within two weeks of arrival.

I believe the change fee is per reservation NOT per person, but I could be wrong

..I would consider switch to regular plan myself, then you would have 4 TS extra that you could use towards the 2 TS signature meals ....My DD and I did the DxDP for same reason...liked apps but we found it to be WAY too much food.....and would have been cheaper to just pay OOP for apps and share them.....

An extra note as a result of seeing another thread... there's always room service (resort permitting) or pizza delivery if you need to burn a few extra credits...
