DxDP Credit distinction

Background - It is me, dh, dd6 and ds 4 on DxDP...

I thought I read somewhere, but can't find it, that on the Deluxe plan we have just a pool of credits - 96 in our case. That they are NOT divided into QS, TS or adult/child. Is this true?

My scenario - I want to order 3 entrees at Flame Tree to split, but no kids meal. This is 3 credits. When I go to a TS, say Sanaa, will it think I used an adult credit for that Flame Tree meal, or will the # of credits be in a lump still?

The reason I ask is that some places we want to share and others we all want to order. Do I need to keep track of adult vs. child credits remaining or just the total #? I don't want to arrive at our departure day Tusker House ADR and have one adult and 3 child credits and end up paying OOP for dh...

Does that make ANY sense? :confused3

they are pooled so it's doesn't seperate as it does on the regular DP.

At the bottom of your receipt it tells you which credits you have remaining
Adult and kids credits ARE seperate though. You can''t use an adult point for a child and vice versa.

We had DxDP in Oct. (2 adults 1 child). I just pulled one of my receipts to verify. It just shows 3 credits used and then shows how many credits left. On the ticket it does not show whether the credits are adult or child credits. Your snack credits will only show up when you purchase snacks.

However, with the dining plan, disney knows that you have 2 adults and 2 children on your plan. From my understanding they will not allow you to purchase 3 adult meals during one order. You can purchase 2 adult meals and share, then later on in the day purchase 2 kids meals and share, but not more than the # of adults or children in your party. That being said we used our credits for breakfast and signature dinners, as we were always at TS they knew 2 adults 1 child. I never tried what you are asking.
(Someone who has visited a little more recently may be able to verify if this info is still correct).

In addition a pp is correct in that it does not matter how you use your credits; ie QS or TS. Disney does not differentiate types of meals on the deluxe plan.

Just another note to your second post:
IMO, it doesn't matter how the credits are pooled keep track of them. There is always the chance that an error can be made (even at disney;)).

This is correct.

Disney states that kids MUST order from the children's menu where one is available. You are not allowed to order an adult meal for a child and use a credit on it. When you order, your card will show X adults and Y children. You will ONLY be able to order as many meals as that card shows in one transaction.

Per Restaurant Board policy, deleted some posts about using children's credits for regular menu meals.

Would have left them up as the current Disney policy was also discussed, but the conversation appeared to start going into ways to get around the policy.

We love the DxDP! You don't get an any QS credits, so if you eat at a QS/CS, you are just using some of your 96. In addition to the comments from the other people who reponded, FYI: We have had repeated difficulties in using our TS credits how we want. For example, it has been just me and DBF--no kids--the last several trips. He or I have wanted to try something extra by using a 3rd meal credit. We have been told no several times at amy different places, some deluxe, some not. It really bothers me because we don't ususally go at free dining and pay a lot of money, there are just the two of us on the reservation--check the KTTW cards!--and if i want to use all my credits in 3 days then who cares--I paid!! Sorry for the rant. I've had some success asking to speak to a manager at some places. We are not going with DxDP next time.

I'm thinking when the server tries to put 2 ts credits through, the system rejects the transaction. It is probably Disney's way of not allowing the customer to buy a meal for someone else.

I have come up with my own "dining plan". It is based on coupons and each coupon is $1. I get 2000 of them (what the dxddp plus tips would have cost for my trip). These "coupons" have no restrictions and I can use them to buy other people meals (who are not on my dining plan).

Oh, the best part - the "coupons" are good for any restaurant or item - in WDW and outside the gates! Isn't that fabulous? The coupons also cover alcohol and tips.
