DxDDP and seperating credits!!

Not sure exactly how to word this...We will be on the deluxe dining plan for our trip and DH and I are planning a date night at Yachtsman Steakhouse so we will be using 4 credits but because the kids won't be with us, there will be an extra 4 credits. Now on the deluxe plan are the credits seperated child/adult, counter service/table service? If so, would the extra credits be considered child credits? counter service or sitdown? Sorry if this is confusing, but I didn't exactly how to word it. Thanks!!

It depends on the age of the child. If they are on the child plan the TS credits are seperated between child and adult.

My understanding is that the extra 4 dining credits would have to be used as "child table service" meals OR you could use them as 4 counterservice meals.

Since Disney does not differentiate at this time between adult and child counterservice meals, you could probably order 2 adult meals and 2 children's meals.

Deluxe dining does NOT separate meal credits by adult/child. One would assume this is for the same reason that they don't separate CS credits on other plans, since a DxDP meal credit can be used for counter service.

Also, note that there are no "TS" or "CS" credits on DxDP, they are all "meal credits" than can be used for TS or CS interchangeably.

Credits for which you paid a child's price, according to Disney, are to be used to purchase meals off a children's menu, where one exists. Any discussion of how to do otherwise will be deleted from the board, as the DIS does not advocate violation of the stated rules of Walt Disney World regarding the dining plan.
