DWTS, who is voting for Bristol?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but she is not the only one without dance experience in her background. Kyle Massey had no previous dance experience and can wipe the floor with Ms. Palin.

Thanks for proving me right in what I said.... :sad2:

Perhaps I should have added she also has no background in entertainment, whereas Kyle clearly does. He sings/raps so I'm quite sure there's a bit of dancing in his past. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Fe9GEoB-z0 Apparently he played a dancer in a movie, Passing Glory.... Sorry to burst your bubble.

I'm sure Bristol has 'danced' at a prom or something, hardly the same thing as being a dancer in a movie and in music videos.

Do kids these days even know how to dance at a school party?? :confused3 Last I saw was a whole lot of bumpin' and grindin' - that doesn't count!

I guess I think the controversey over Jennifer's dance experience is well exaggerated. She was in a movie where she danced more than 20 years ago. That does not qualify her as a professional on any level. Is Hillary Swank considered a professional boxer because of Million Dollar Baby? Would I expect Meryl Streep to be able to converse in Polish because she did so in Sophie's Choice in 1982?

Passing Glory was filmed when Kyle was SEVEN years old :lmao:. I would be shocked if Bristol didn't dance at some local Alaskan dance studio for ballet or tap when she was in 2nd grade too. That doesn't mean that she had "dance experience" and having a bit part in a film when you're seven years old doesn't either.

ETA: Did you even LOOK at that clip you posted? THAT was not "dancing". That was hopping up and down in one spot :happytv:.

I hate to admit it but I am guilty of thinking the same thing.

A few weeks ago some loon was going around various DWTS message boards and trying to sell people on some rumor that she was pregnant again. It was right before the elections, so I'm sure it was someone trying to swing votes against the people her mother had endorsed.

They were probably paying it forward. I heard that rumor a couple of months ago. She, like anyone else who's followed by the stalkarazzi, if she gains 5 lbs or wears the wrong shirt, given her past, will be accused of being pregnant again.

It wasn't just for the election! Don't you know she's been blowing off her baby to go on romantic dates with her dance partner??? :confused3 It's ALL OVER the news! I mean gossip mags! I mean tabloids... haven't you noticed them in line at the grocery check-out?

Don't feel bad. I think the same thing. How does that happen??

To the OP:
I'm not voting for her. I have extensive background in dance/cheer. She's the one who misses steps the most. It really bothers me. She should have gone the week she was dressed like a monkey. She missed A LOT of steps. It's far too late in the competition to be missing steps like that. Since I'm a choreographer it just bothers me.....

I can't imagine being 'bothered' by a this type of TV show, but I'll bet there are many people trained in ballroom/latin/swing who are happily voting for Bristol. We don't all think alike and are maybe looking for different things in the celebs' performances, but I know I won't be bothered regardless who wins or doesn't win.

You are exactly right! We all have our own opinions and I was just expressing mine. I am a certified judge and was just expressing my opinion. When I'm judging, mis-steps bother me.

I never said that I would be bothered by who wins or doesn't. I respect your opinion, thanks for respecting mine :)

Yep, I did. And experience is experience no matter what age, people gave Melissa a hard time because she took dance classes as a child.

I;ll give her this....she's the only "celebrity" in the history of the show who appears to have GAINED weight during the competition

:sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

I haven't voted for any of them but maybe the people voting for her are doing so because she's the only one with NO DANCE EXPERIENCE in her background. That is what the show is all about, right?

Such rudeness on this thread....:sad2:

I agree, Kyle is an entertainer, Bristol has no performance experience.

He looks about 15 or 16 in that video and it is a professionally choreographed routine. The point is he does have professional experience.

The DANCERS on the video are professionally choreographed. Kyle shifts from one foot to the other and moves his arms a bit. I'm sure the choreographer was happy s/he got that out of him since he was completely awkward!

But whatever ... if you and N&B'smom want to continue your little fantasy that little Bristol is the only one without dance experience ... knock yourselves out :rolleyes1. Me ... I'm voting for the kid (according to N&B'smom) who went "pro" when he was in 2nd grade :cheer2:.

Oooooooooooooooookay.....you go ahead and do that! :thumbsup2 I'll continue to live in my fantasy world where I don't get my panties in a bunch over a TV show. Seriously....I don't get the animosity. When you referred to her as 'little' Bristol it's obvious your problem with her is all about her lack of dancing skills. I'm sure that's why you're so condescending towards her......

Yep...I'll stick to my fantasy world where people are ACTUALLY pleasant.

My goodness, let's get personal, shall we? I think you are taking things way too seriously. Is this the attitude you pass along to your kids?:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

And bringing my daughter into the conversation as part of an insult is NOT personal ?

I was asking about your parenting style, I said nothing about your child.

Actually our fantasy world is kind of cool! We have Billie Joe, and remember when Sean Bean called us last week? :dance3:
