Hi

We are staying in a condo next month in Lake Buena Vista which has a DVD player in it.

If we bring our DVD's I assume these won't work in the US due to the NTSC system?

Another alternative is that we have a really small DVD player we could take - the TV's in the US have SCART sockets don't they?

If you are taking a laptop you can watch on there. I took mine but we never found time for DVDs.

Unless the player is multi region you wont be able to play dvds (Us is region 1, uk reigon 2.) the NTSC/PAL aspect shouldn't cause an issue, unless the tvs over 10 years old.

A small player you plug in could be ideal, personally i just buy some dvds that im already after from walmart or the (now closed) virgin and bring them home. Walmart always have some cracking films for $5-$7 (like asda do)

j9000, this is completely OT but I love your avatar! :lmao:

Back on track though, I think it would be cheaper to just buy some there. You will obviously have a car and go to the shops for groceries. Supermarkets often have the best deals on these kind of things.

Are you renting the condo privatley?
If the owner is a Brit you could always ask them if the player has been region hacked, we have found that a lot of the players in villas owned by British people have been modified so that they will play all regions. There's also no harm in just taking a few disks in a squishy wallet holder and then trying them when you get there, they won't take up much room.

Although we've never had the time to watch DVDs! :rotfl: The kids love the Disney channel etc so that is usually on while they have breakfast etc.

Hope that helps

Just a thought with buying dvds and stuff, while Walmart only stock 'clean' cds, the films are not cut or edited in the same manner.
