DVD/TV recommendation for van???

Driving to WDW in Dec. and would like to purchase a DVD/TV combo for the van . Can anybody make a recommendation for a decent unit we can purchase in Ontario prior to our trip?

Usually, I prefer Wal-mart since their return policy is so great and if we are in the U.S. and the unit needs to be returned I know as long as I have my Canadian Mal-mart receipt there is no problem.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

We bought a 9" TV/DVD player from Wal-Mart. It's a great size and since our van has quad seats, it's perfect for those in the rear to see it. I bought a holder for it off of ebay that holds it safely between the two front seats. It came with the car adapter and was just under $300. We love it. We used to have the VHS one that sat on the floor between the two front seats, but it sucked. It would overheat and shut off constantly and it was only 7" and the angle the kids' heads were at from looking down at it gave them a sore neck at times.

Good luck! We're driving to Florida in December too and we're so grateful we have this with our 4 kids. We also bought a DVD recorder and have been recording lots of movies and favorite tv shows.

Someone on the Budget Board (I think) mentioned Durabrand at Walmart. It has 2 screens and someone can be watching a dvd while someone else can be playing x-box, etc. I know they have it at the Walmart in Charlottetown but I think it is $399.

I bought one at Shoppers Drug Mart lately but the screen is only 5 1/2 inch. It is on sale for 177. and if you have Optimum Points, you can get it cheaper.

Whatever you do, do NOT leave your precious DVDs in the van. Don't even take them on vacation.

Do what I do. Make copies of the DVDs and bring the copies on your trip so if they got lost/damaged, you will still have the original.

We're driving down in Jan and I'd like one too but I don't want to spend $300 on something that we're only going to use once!
