DVD Sale at TDS

FYI--the Disney Store is running a promotion thru tomorrow that all DVD's in stock, with exception to Monster's Inc., are on sale for $10.00. Also excludes the Beauty and Beast pre-sale.

If you need to stock up I would hurry before they sell out.

I am going right after work! These will be great for Christmas!!! I wonder if I can use the coupons that were included in with the Monsters Inc. DVD....hmmmm.... Even if I can't $10 is an awesome deal!!!

We bought 3 DVDs today, Schoolhouse Rock, Spy Kids, and Mickey's House Of Villains, and used our Disney Club Discount with no problem. This really is a great deal to update and replace some worn out VHS tapes !!!

Just got back from TDS and here's the damage:

19.99 B& B preorder
$10 - Snow Dogs (make sure you check your receipt. I was charged full price and had to get an adjustment), the Rookie, House of Villians, Tarzan and Jane, School House Rocks, Max Keeble, Bugs Life and Rolie Polie Olie.

I split the order up and purchased the Rookie first. I opened up the dvd after I paid for it and pulled out 4 more $2 coupons and 1 $1 coupon to use on the next order where I used them and ALL the coupons in the Monsters Inc DVD that I could (2 @ $2 each). I got my DC discount and the $10 gift card which will go in my dd's stocking for x-mas.


I don't think I did too bad huh?

Now I called the other store near me and they said it ended at 3:00. I hate when Disney pulls this crap! I'll call right before I leave work and see.

Wow!! I'm glad I sent dh on his lunch hour! He got Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, the Schoolhouse Rock set, and Atlantis. I really wanted Emperor's New Groove, but all the stores around here are sold out.

I also preordered Beauty and she kept 2 DVDs out for a separate order. Then she took the gift card and used it on those two DVDs. I didn't realize that the Monsters had coupons until I saw this thread. Darn it, I could have saved a little more, but at $10 each, I think I did good! LOL I was bummed that they were out of Mary Poppins, though. I could have gotten it on VHS, but I want the dvd so I didn't get it.

I got there at 3:30 Eastern time and they had to use the over ride key to give me and the person in front of me the $10 price.

I just got Peter Pan, Return to Neverland and Little Mermaid 2.

Went to Raliegh store after class. The sale there ends at 6pm today! There were no signs advertising. I asked a cast member who said yes they had the sale and asked me where I found out.

Was at the Disney store just before 3 today and DVD's still rang up at $10...*but*...CM said they never know until they put them in the register what is going to happen. Apparently, the reason Disney decided to cancel this sale is because people were buying many, many DVD's and then reselling them for a profit, according to the CM I spoke with.

I sent my mother in law and they told her the sale ended at 2:00. I had called earlier today and the manager never said any thing about it ending. So the manager I spoke to was still there and she did a price override for the video's. I was very happy that they did this. But they do know us by name in the store.

Make sure you call before making the trip. I hate it when TDS sales are on strange hours/days. I wish they wouldn't do that.

I bought four after work today. I had to go a little easy -- tomorrow is pin release day too! $$$
When I got home, I let one of my overseas pin buddies know about the sale, since he collects DVD's also. THEN I read about the sale ending!
He responded right away and I ran back to the store VERY quickly to buy the Treasures DL (LE) DVD for him.
I mentioned to the manager in charge about the sale ending. She didn't know anything about it. She has been very busy selling the DVD's and VHS tapes, in addition to regular merchandise and unpacking a shipment.
She and another CM did say that all of a sudden they were having to override the price on their register. She says she will check. SO guess I got in under the wire (and should have kept my mouth shut)!
She says she is still getting a lot of calls to place them on hold.

On another board, someone posted they were told Disney needed to boost their monthy sales quota and did this unannounced sale to meet their goals. The sale was suppose to be three days (yesterday, today, Saturday). However it went over TOO well and they met their quota already!
They sure were selling here! EVERYONE was buying several.

I think it was pretty wrong of TDS to end the sale the way they did. I left work to pick up the DVD's and arrived at 5:30pm. I was told by the sales person that they just received the email and the sale ended at 3pm. Talk about bait and no switch. This sale was supposed to end tomorrow. They can give the DVD's away next time I won't go back. Classic Disney!!
