DVD Rental at the BCV

With my first stay in a BCV one-bedroom rapidly approaching (although not as rapidly as I would like! :earsboy: ), I was thinking about the fact that there will be a DVD player in the room, and I had a few logistical questions:
  1. I assume that the DVD player is connected to the TV in the living room, not the one in the bedroom, correct?
  2. I have heard that we get free DVD rentals. I assume that you pick those up at the Beach Club's store ("Atlantic Wear and Wardrobe Emporium "). Correct?
  3. I'm guessing the rental is a single-night rental. When are the DVDs due back? (I'm wondering if they have to be returned before we head out to the parks, or if later in the day will suffice.)
  4. How many DVDs can you rent at a time?
  5. If you've rented there before, what did you think of the selection?
[/list=1]Sorry for so many questions at once, but as I sat here

typing the post, I kept thinking of more questions!

  1. * The DVD player is connected to the TV in the living room
    * You do get free DVD rentals. Yes you go to the counter and they have two binders listing all available DVD's
    * It is a single night rental, due back by 10a.m. the following day (I believe the time is right)
    * We rented two at a time; I am not sure if there is a limit
    * I was not happy with the selection from an adult point of view; for kids there were a lot of choices, though in my opinion, it seems in need of updating

    I hope this helps.

Thanks for the answers, Chip.
...for kids there were a lot of choices, though in my opinion, it seems in need of updating
I'm primarily interested in DVDs for the kids (something to wind them down after a day in the park, and keep them occupied while preparing supper), so it's good to know there is a decent selection (if not exactly current).
...due back by 10a.m. the following day ...
So, I definitely need to drop them by on the way out to the parks in the mornings.

Anybody know what time the store opens?

..was curious about that too! We will be driving in August and have the VCR in the car for the kids, but will now, also need to bring some DVD's for the room! DD's 13 & 8 are already debating over which ones to bring, as there is a limit!
I'm assuming that most of the rentals are Disney oriented movies, and that we should bring Shrek and Spiderman ;)

...also need to bring some DVD's for the room!
Yes, I'm sure we'll bring along a couple of favorites just in case we don't find enough we like for each night. I might even see if I can pick up a new one before the trip as a special suprise for our first evening dining in.

While I don't know, I've certainly suspected that, too. (Not that that is a bad thing :earsboy: , just mildly limiting.) When I return from the upcoming trip, I'll try to remember and post an update to this thread with some commentary on selection and availability.

We were able to renew twice a DVD that DS8 had rented and didn't have a chance to finish. It wasn't a problem at all. We just had to go to Atlantic Wear and "renew" it.

A couple tidbits:

* to get the TV to display the DVD signal, you must change the channel to AUX. I'm sure this is obvious to many, but it's not how our DVD at home works so it took me a little while to figure out.

* DVD players can in principle play music CDs. I've never done this though. Has anyone tried it at BCV?

I brought four DVDs and one CD from home. Our boys watched Monsters Inc three times during our five-night stay(!) and didn't touch the others.

I am going to BCV Feb 9th and I will bring my own DVDs. Their selection is old Disney fare and very few good adult movies. The store opens early, I want to say 7 but not sure, and the DVDs must be returned before 10 AM. I am not sure what happens to you if DVDs are late but they are adamant about the time. Also if you are around in the morning or afternoon this is the best time to pick up disks. Nightime at the store is crazy with everyone picking out movies from 1 adult and 1 kids movie book.
