Does anyone have one? I am very disappointed with our Panasonic Mini-DV which just broke and was very expensive.

We have to replace it quickly b/c our new daughter is 4 months old and I feel like I will miss a lot.

What kind do you have? I don't want to spend more than $500 and saw two at Costco today for $450 and $499.

Thanks! :sunny:

We have a JVC Everio, GZ-MG27 it too was on the expensive side, but I LOVE it, it is a hard drive camera...so no dvds or mini dvs to buy. We record and when it gets full, we burn it to a dvd. Look for sales...we bought ours as an open box item at Circuit City for about $500.

By the way, I always look at Best Buy (and other stores) and seem to come back to Circuit City when it is time to actually buy big ticket electronic items. It isn't like I am super loyal to them, but they always seem to have good deals and I have had good luck with what I have bought.

I have the sony dvd camcorder, and although i have only had it for a year and a half, i am already ready to upgrade to the hard drive camcorder. the main reason is the little dvd's are expensive and a pain in the butt to put onto regular dvd's (if using rewritable little dvd's) and the hard drive camcorders are just about the same price and i saw that they now have a new device that will transfer the video from the hard drive onto a full size dvd (the device cost about 200).

again, although the little dvd camcorder is small and easy to watch (who has a vcr anymore??), i would spend the little extra money it may cost and get the hard drive camcorder.

I have the Sony Handycam and I love it. It's very easy to use and very compact, not much bigger than a regular digital camera.

I have a Sony one and I really like it a lot. I just bought some software to make videos w/music, etc on them the toher day. I can hadly wait to try it out.

Thanks everyone, I really want an easy one and was leaning toward Sony since we had bad luck with Panasonic (also our Panasonic DVD player broke and wasn't old either!). I am going to research the hard drive type too.
