Does anyone use DVC's grocery delivery? My wife and I are new members and are staying in a studio at BLT this december. I looked at the grocery order list on the members web site and for the few things we would order the prices didn't seem to far off from what we pay here at home.

Thanks
Ty

We use Garden Grocer and there is another service called WeGoShop. Both have received very good reviews here. Prices are higher than at home, but seem much better than those of WDW. Garden Grocer delivers within a two-hour timeframe.

We have used it for things needed first day/second morning when we cannot make our usual grocery run until second day. It provides what you order and generally delivers in the evening of day you arrive (and if not in room they put perishables in the frig). Prices are higher than what you would pay in a regular store. If it is going to be your source of groceries for entire trip, you may want to consider instead one of the delivery servcies such as GardenGrocer.com.

We use Garden Grocer for our grocery delivery. They have a larger selection and are more reasonably priced than Disney. There is a $12 delivery charge, but delivery is free for orders of $200 or more. I also like that you can pay via Paypal if you wish so that you do not have to charge the items that you purchase. If the groceries arrive before you do or your room is not ready, they will hold them at Bell Services. I would highly recommend them!

Others have used WegoShop and have been very happy with that service as well. With that, you have the opportunity to make your own list, brands, sizes, etc., as well as designate where you would like them to shop for you. Although I like the concept, I am too lazy to go to all that trouble to make such a detailed list.

For items that you may not particularly need a whole jar of, I have used Minimus Biz to purchase individual sized items. (Packets of mayo, salad dressing, jam etc.) I couldn't see the sense of using half of something and then just throwing it away. They have a great selection and are reasonably priced. I just had the box mailed right to the resort and it was held at Bell Services for me.

Anything you don't see on gardengrocers web site can be ordered by calling them. We added beer our last trip.

We used the resort grocer this past March and was very disappointed. I have a 4 year old that is still not "restaurant-friendly" and planned to eat most of our meals in our room. The selection was very poor and not exactly healthy. Not a vegetable in the list. The next time I will use Garden Grocer. I hear great things about them.

I was going to say that we use it as a supplement to the DDP. We order bagels, peanut butter, cereal milk, OJ etc. for breakfast and snacks in the room.
For that it is perfect. We have always had the food in there the same day we arrive, unpacked and in the fridge.
I like it!

Thanks for the gardengrocer.com tip, though, that will be great for our big trip in... ahem...2 years. LOL.
:rotfl:

We used the DVC Grocer last March and I thought it was great! Granted we only ordered breakfast items and some sandwich fixings. I thought the prices were comparable to what we pay here at home (I did a comparison). Of course, we live in California, so everything is inflated out here. I thought it was so convenient since it was in our fridge when we arrived. Have a fabulous trip:wizard:
