DVC'rs--Yachtsman

We prefer Yachtsman over LeCellier. It has been a couple of years since our last visit there, so I hope the quality of food and excellent service are still the same for your visit. Have a great trip!

Me, too. The roasted garlic spread for the onion rolls at Yachtsman is to die for. Steak is great, too. I like Le Cellier, but Yachtsman is better.

Thats what I did...I called today, at 9am, to book Le Cellier for either the 13th, 14th, 15th or 16th...Lady said NOTHING available for all those days, lunch and dinner.....:confused3 Its too bad, we really wanted to try it there....Oh well, we have another 46yrs to try it :)

I think a better perk than 10% off at DD would be a better ADR system for DVC members....LIke ADR booking when you book your resort stay.....
Le Cellier is our favorite, we prefer it to Yachtsman but they are different experiences. We called at 90 days from our 7 day stay and could only get late or very early and lunch times.

I was just going to suggest trying to get a lunch reservation. We've eaten at Le Cellier twice - first at dinner time, second time a late lunch (2pm-ish). I liked lunch time more. My DS11 ordered the Angus Chuck Burger. It was one of the best burgers I've ever tasted (he gave me a bite :goodvibes ). When we call for our ADRs in May we'll be asking for a lunch reservation. The burger's not on the dinner menu (I wonder if it could be requested though)!

We just ate at both restaurants this past January. Enjoyed both, but thought the steak was better at Yachtman's. I did not eat the Prime Rib as our server said the steak had more flavor since it is cooked in the wood-burning oven and the Prime Rib isn't.

Enjoyed the cheddar cheese soup at Le Cellier, steak okay, too full for dessert.

If you really want Le Cellier, then just keep trying and hopefully something will open up later.

We have been to Yachtsman several times and always had delicious food and great service. Sam was our last waiter and we hope to request him on our trip this weekend. Both DH and I prefer Yachtsman to LeCellier for food and atmosphere - quieter overall and not as dark. A few seats are by the window and you can look out at Stormalong Bay. BC/YC/BW are in such a beautiful and romantic area. The stroll from BW is lovely, but I wouldn't recommend it, if your lady is in high heels.

Enjoy!!

PS - Have heard it is Regis' fav restaurant when he comes to town.

I agree with carol1231 - we love them both, but prefer Yachtsman. We ate there in January and it was simply fantastic. Loved it.

Ate at both just before Christmas...LOVE the cheese soup, but also liked the cheese soup at Grand Fla Cafe. But for steak, we love hte Yachtsman. Great service, fine dining. Give it a try if you never have. I believe it is worth it!

We prefer Yachtsman too. I do love the Cheese Soup at LeCellier. We have tried to get into LeCellier unsuccessfully too. So last time I asked if I could do a take out on the Cheese soup and was able too.
But Yauchtsman is our favorite. I do like my steak with a bit of zest. I thought the potatos augraten? were the best. WE have had good service too. So I am sorry for those that haven't. We have eaten there about 5 times, and always loved it.

Just wondering were you trying to make reservations for two at LeCellier? They only have a small number of table for two and will not put in a table for four.

Hello my fellow DVC'rs....First...How come I called first thing this morning, to book my ADR for Le Celier, and it was already booked for the entire 4 days we are there?? :confused3 I was told to call on the 13th, since we arrive on the 13th, and it was already booked for 13-17th? And, how is the Yacthsman? We ended up with that for dinner...AND, finally, how close is the Yacht Club to BWV? Is it walking distance?

Thanks gang

I know this is beating a dead horse, but according to the dining calculator here on this website (wdwinfo.com) your 90 day window date was 2/12/09, so you were one day late. However, with the +10 that does effect ADRs. For example, I arrive on 5/3/09 and waited until 5/5/09 to call for my ADRs and was able to book all of mine including dinner and lunch at LeCellier for our 12 night stay and I booked ALL of my ADRs (at least the hard ones) up to 5/15/09 when I called on 5/5/09. So this would be why you couldn't get in at your 89 day window call on 2/13/09. You should still try.

I'm confused...I know you can book ADRs 90 days out from date of dining, but what is the +10 thing? I thought in the old system is was almost a year out then +10 for DVC..is this something new? :confused3

Anyone staying at a WDW resort can call to make dining reservation 90 days from your checkin day and get the +10. (check the calculator for the exact date--wdwinfo.com under "dining"). You can call and make your dining reservations for that day, plus the next 10 days. This is a perk only for resort guest as guest not staying on property can only call 90 days prior and only book the one day. This has been the rule for several years. It's great being able to book your entire dining list on one phone call.

The MS told me to call back on the 13th....Everytime I spoke with them...Thats ok...We will do Le Celier another time....I am pretty psyched about Yachtsmen after reviews here and on the rest forum...Thanks!!

We went to Yachtsman in September for our 10th anniversary.
They treated us like royalty. We had personalized menus (which we didn't even notice until halfway through ordering, duh), the food was very good.
My husband had the lamb - said it was the best he's had ever, I had the filet - it melted in my mouth.
Very good food and service.

We love the Yachtsman. Ate there in Sept. Our 3rd or 4th time. Yummy filet, love the onion bread and roasted garlic. My DH really enjoyed his steak and the seared scallops. The last few times I have tried to get Le Cellier I haven't been able to!

I have never tried to book at the 90 day window. And it is usually for 2. I will have to plan more carefully next time we go.
CPDWIZ I think you will love the Yachtsman. It is my husbands favorite restaurant, next to beaches and cream.
Enjoy
