I don't know if anyone has noticed, but the DVC website is available in Japanese.

Obviously, they will be marketing Aulani heavily to the Japanese, so this make sense. (The Hilton Grand Vacations Club website is also available in Japanese.)

But it kind of makes me wonder how reservations will be handled. Will the Japanese have to call Orlando for reservations? Since they are 13 hours ahead of EDT (14 hours ahead of EST) that would be awkward. I would also think they will need Japanese speaking cm's.

Or will they have a call center in Japan operated on local time? That would make sense, but then it raises the question of booking windows. Would the booking window be on Japanese time, giving them essentially a 1 day booking advantage, or on Orlando time, giving them essentially a 1 day booking disadvantage.

Not a big deal, but just curious how this will work out.

Oh, these are interesting questions!

I bet Aulani will look like an especially attractive deal to the Japanese right now, since the Yen is at or near a multi-decade high relative to the dollar.

The whole idea of a separate call center for one DVC resort seems a bit excessive. Perhaps they'll add, if you speak Japanese, press three. On the other hand they have added the option of a fixed week DVC purchase for Aulani just for the Japanese, so maybe Disney will think differently.

I just thought of something, the Japanese are used to advanced technology, wait until they see how poorly the MS website works and how seldom it is updated. That will make a good impression. :lmao:

The website cannot be accessed until after you have bought in :headache:

I would think it would operate the same way it does for someone in CA. They have to adjust their time to Orlando's. There are people in other parts of the world who make DVC reservations now and have to be aware of the booking window.

My guess is there will be a call center in Japan and it will run on Orlando time in terms of reservation windows, or whatever window Aulani runs on (maybe it'll run on Hawaiian time for all I know). The Japanese have very high expectations when it comes to customer service, and Disney undoubtably knows this and wouldn't try to have them call Orlando and press "3" for Japanese.

As a next step, I'm hoping for a DVC resort at Tokyo Disney! Maybe they could remodel the Venice wing rooms at MiraCosta into DVC rooms! *dream*
