DVC Watches

Just wanted to give everybody a update on the DVC watches. Just got back from WDW and I had purchased a DVC watch at VWL and they had more
enough for sale at the store there. We also wen t to SSR and I asked if they too had any watches and they also had some for sale. Also before my trip to the VWL I called down to ask if they could hold one for me and sure enough it was waiting for me!

I received mine in the mail today! I had called several weeks ago to OKW General Store to get my name on list, and called again last week to confirm I wanted when I had heard they were coming in. They took credit card info and mailing address. Received it today. I had heard that there would be no taxes, but that was not the case. Over $8 in taxes.

The entire watch is larger than I thought it would be. The watch face is larger as well as the band. I hope I can get someone to remove a couple of links from the band. The clasp is kind of different than any other one I've had. It doesn't open all the way. Kind of a folding clasp.

Is there a picture of one anywhere? And where did you order one from? I need a new watch anyway!

I tried calling a couple of resort gift-shops, but the operators re-direct me to mail-order, who don't sell the watches. We'll be there in November... I hope they hold back some stock for the TG buying season.

timC & ZachnElli, We called what we thought was the BCV resort and I too was directed to mail-order number. So what I did was ask if they could redirect me to the BCV gift shop. They did and after talking to BCV gift shop they told me they were out but they could transfer me to another resort. Being that I was going to be at the VWL I asked for that resorts gift shop. And I ask if they had any watches and if they did could they hold one for me. They will hold them if you ask. It is hard to get to the gift shop but it can be done.

You're right. It's hard to get transfered. I get the strong impression they don't want guests calling the strore directly... In fact I would've made it if it wasn't for that one last question by the operator "oh...and you're a CM, right?" ... I wimped out... "NO. I'm a guest"... Doh! ... Hello mail-Order.

Your right about them not wanting you to call the store directly, I don't know why. It just means that we are going to spend more money at Disney!!

What you could try is calling the resorts directly and than asking for the gift shop. this did work for us once at OKW.

Goofy4dvc, where did you order yours from? You said you got it in the mail? We won't be going back until 2006 (saving points to take my parents and bro's family).

I called OKW and asked for the General Store. I first told the operator that I wanted to order the watch and she transferred me to the mail order. Called back and asked for General Store, she finally put me through. They put me on the wait list and when I heard they were starting to come in and they were calling people to see if they still wanted them and get credit card number, I just called them back to confirm that I wanted on. She asked for my addess and cc#. A week later it arrived.

I've also heard that SSR has quite a few if OKW doesn't work for you.
