Are there washers and dryers available to use if you stay in a room that doesn't have them in the room? Like are there "common" ones to use in any DVC resorts?

We stayed in the grand villa at BLT last time, and we were spoiled. With a small child, they were very useful.

Thank you!

yes, there's a laundry room with resort key access that studio dwellers can use. at BLT, i think it's on the first floor not far from the door to the pool...

I have only used them at OKW, but there weren't many washers/dryers in the very small room. Maybe 3 washers, 3 dryers? (Something like that anyway)

Also, at OKW they were unbelievably hot. They weren't air conditioned at all and between the August heat and the dryer heat, it was not a good time.

Remember too that they have coin slots, but you don't need to load coins to use the machines.

Maybe others have used the rooms in other resorts and could comment there? The last few visits we've stayed in a 1 Bdrm and have been spoiled by the W/D in the unit. :)

I believe that all of the resorts have them. I know OKW's are by the pool (s). At AKL they are actually on certain floors inside the resort.

We stayed in a studio at BW and used the laundry facility on our December trip. It was just sdown the hall and very convienent.

I have used the ones at BLT and they are on the first floor. I took the kids to the community hall and threw on a load while they made the cutest mickey mouse tie died shirts. I can't remember exactly how many washers or dryers there were but it was not busy when I was there.

I've stayed in a studio at OKW several times. They're at the pools indeed, and yes it gets hot as there's no airconditioning, but nevertheless very useful. It's never busy there and you can do the washing/drying while at the swimming pool (and you can jump into the pool after you get out of the hot room ;))

What about at SSR? Are they by the community hall by the main pool?

Do you know how much it cost DVC member to use the washer/dryers? I'm definitely going to need to use them the first day we arrive after staying at Vero Beach. We will be in a studio, so we won't have a washer and dryer. Thanks for your input!:thumbsup2

there is no cost to use the washers & dryers, but you need your own detergent which you can buy @ the laundry area. The last few times I had brought from home the sheets that had the detergent & fabric softener in them & they pack very easily.

Thank you princesspat209! :)

Each reosrt has a laundry room. Stayed in a studio at BWV, laundry was clean and convienient.

This is great! Thank you.

DH surprised me today with the itinerary to a trip in September at GF. We are banking our points for a big family trip next year in the grand villas again!!

I saw on GF's website that there are washers and dryers available.

unless you are in a studio you will have a washer/dryer in your room at all the DVC resorts unless I am wrong.

There will be washers and dryers at GF- I am not sure where they are - I don't remember having any in main building where we stayed. Since it is not a DVC resort you will need to pay for using them so bring along quarters.

No charge. They do have coin slots, but no need to put money in them. Just push the coin slots in and they start.
