DVC - Waitlisted

I am renting points and reserved a week at the SSR but have been waitlisted at a few other resorts. How will the DVC member be notified if the waitlist comes through? I know when we made the reservation they CM said that whichever waitlist came through first would just automatically cancel my current reservation and book the new resort. I am just wondering if I should occasionally ask him to check his account to see if my reservation has been changed or if he will be notified by some other means (email/phone).

Members are not notified directly that their waitlists go through. They must log in to the member website and see what recent activity shows for their reservations to know that a waitlist went through (or they telephone MS to find out).

Will the member require additional funds if you get one of your waitlisted resorts? SSR usually requires fewer points than BCV, BWV, VWL and AKV.

If one of your waitlists comes through the member should receive a new confirmation letter in the mail about two weeks later. If they do check their account on the DVC Members website from time to time, they will see the evidence there first under their Vacation Details or Points Activity.
