How likely is it that my waitlist will pull through for two (non consecutive) nights for January?

I've been waitlisted for January 13th and 15th at an AKV Studio.

Should I be worried and make other arrangements instead?

Did you check the DVCMember website for availability? There have been some crazy dates available lately.

lots of variables:

when did you get on the waitlist? if you got on the waitlist at 10 months out, that's better than if you got on the waitlist at exactly 7 months out...which is better than if you got on the waitlist last night.

what kind of studio? if it's for a club level or value studio, those are much tougher (i've not gotten a waitlist for a value studio before.) if it's for a savanna view studio, your odds are much better. also, AKV-kidani has a larger supply of rooms than jambo house (which is pretty much 5th floor only.)

I'm actually doing a DVC point rental with someone.

I had to resort hop due to availability and the last leg of my stay is whats worrying me. He said he has had very good luck before with getting his waitlists to go through ... though it was only wait listed last night.

I believe it is for a Standard or Savannah View studio.

Waitlist requests are only met when someone else cancels. Difficult to handicap the odds of that happening. And there's no way to know how many people are on the list ahead of you. You could be first in line for either of those nights or 10th. Those dates are only three months out.

I believe the WDW marathon events run through the 13th so that one could be tough. Very popular these days.

If not for the marathon, I'd say you have a greater than 50/50 chance. Just not sure how the marathon will impact things, though. A lot of people with DVC reservations are certainly registered for the marathon and would seem to be less likely to cancel.

I would definitely make other arrangements at a location with a generous cancellation policy.

I just made reservations 6 days ago at the Boardwalk with a wait list for the beach club. Got my beach club today!! good luck!
