I'm sure there is some reason, but does anyone know?
Why is the point value of DVC vs. Disney Collection seem so out of balance?
Consider the following:
(using only weeknights in Regular Season)
Polynesian Resort - $369 or 41 points
Contemporary Resort -$ 390 or 32 points
Port Orleans Resort - $155 or 18 points
vs.
Beach Club Villas - $345 or 13 points
Beach Club 1BDR - $465 or 28 points
Boardwalk Villas - (same)
I just don't understand why one could stay 3 nights at BCV or BWV vs. 1 night at the Polynesian.
Weekends are even more of a disadvantage to DVC members.
I understand that DVC and Disney are separate and there may be some associated expenses, but is there a reason for such a disparity in the point value?
Even is Disney charged a point equivalent of a 1 or 2 bedroom (28/34 points), they list those rooms for $465 and $745 at BCV.
A DVC member can get a 1 bedroom at OKW for the same points as a regular room at Port Orleans. The cash difference is $155 vs. $405 (rack rates).
Sorry for rambling on here, just trying to comprehend their thoughts on this.
