DVC TV channels in new/renovated rooms

My kids LOVE the 'old' channel 96 which had classic Disney animation movies running 24/7. They watched them each visit since 2001. I always look forward to seeing local commercials like 'appliance direct'. (I know, that's crazy).

Our last visit we had a Kidani villa for week 1. Kidani has new flat screens and satellite HD provided by Dish network. Nice TVs. But, No Disney cartoon movies to fall asleep to and no appliance direct. But, the lobby TV in Kidani had the movies running.

On week 2, we stayed at our beloved BWV. Still had the standard TVs and we had channel 96 and also local commercials. It was great! I believe this might be local cable.

I'm wondering if the renovated BWV rooms, BLT, etc. all now do not carry the channel 96 content??

Anyone else notice?

I agree, we missed CH 96 too! We had it our first week at our home resort of BWV but our second week at BLT it was gone!


This CH was great for those of us with smaller kids. And to be honest, liked it too!

Channel 96 isn't at SSR either.

So the newer resorts don't get 96. Maybe Disney is not using Smart City as their CATV provider in the newer resorts.

We also noticed that the Lifetime channels were removed from the channel line up due to a ownership change for Lifetime. Disney now owns it with Universal.

If the cable at BLT & Kidani is different, does any one know if these two resorts will have TBS & TNT? These are the networks with the baseball playoffs and my DH was disapointed he may not even be able to watch a little of the playoffs.

My kids really miss channel 96 too. The other thing they miss, which I believe has been gone for some time, is the storytime channel at night. They would love falling to sleep listening to it.

We didn't stay at one the renovated rooms at BWV but I have to tell you, I laughed when you mentioned Appliance Direct. My husband and I quote thier commercials all the time!! They are sooo funny!!

am currently at OKW and lifetime is on channel 7 and LFTM MOV (lifetime movie?) is on 8

We were just in a renovated one bedroom at BWV, and the two little guys with us watched a channel that had really old Disney cartoons on it every night. I can't tell you that it was channel 96, as they handled their own channel selection, but it was some really old cartoons that we had never seen. They are both 10 and loved watching that channel as they fell asleep.

I am still hoping someone can confirm that channel 96 exists in Jambo house?
