DVC Towels

The mousekeeping thread made me think of this. We're renting points to stay at a 1bdrm at BLT. There are five in the party. The room is reserved. How many towels are left in the room for use? Are we supposed to use the room towels at the pool? Do we rent at the pool (& how much)?

There will be a towel set for each sleeping space in the room, I believe.

Pool towels are available at the pool, for free.

We stayed at BLT this past May in a studio(4 in the room:2 adults and 2 children). There was one set of towels for each of us and separate towels were available at the pool. No need to carry wet towels back to room.

A BLT 1 bedroom sleeps 5 so you will have 5 sets of towels- they will be replaced on your housekeeping days (day 4 is trhe first). If you want more than that you can pay for a towel package ($6 I think) and get 4 more towel sets.

Actually no - the values don't have towels at the pool. I don't know about the moderates. The deluxe properties do.

The moderates are just the same as deluxe resorts, the towels are available at the pool. The night before we checked into BLT, we are doing our first stay at a Value resort this September, I guess we'll find out then about the towels.

I was asking the question about DVC properties, not value resorts.

It also depends on how many bathrooms you have. We stayed at BLT 1 bedroom in May and EACH bathroom had a complete set of towels. There were 4 bath, 2 hand, 4 washclothes in EACH bathroom. So a total of 8 bath, 4 hand, 8 washclothes, and also there was the assorted towel animals that you can dismantel. Also 2 bath mats. Remember you can throw them in the washer too. And yes, there are separate towels at the pool(s).

LOL, I guess your question is answered OP! I always laugh at how sometimes here on the DIS/DVC board we tend to do an overkill with the simple answers like this one!

Simple answer is you get one bath towel per sleeping space in the villa. Those that sleep four should get four. Those that sleep five, should get five.

Actually I saw the first answer, said 'ok' and haven't checked back until today! lol
It sounds like everything will be fine. I just wanted to make sure we didn't need to use room towels at the pool (or need $$ at the pool--aside from drinks).

We were able to get pool towels at the South Point pool at the end of May/beginning of June. There was a big bin of them.

OKW always has huge towel bins at ALL the pools. You probably didn't notice it if they had the tent flap down. Sometimes they have the flap tied up, and sometimes it's just hanging in front of the towels.

Just got back this morning from a 1BR at BLT(what a FANTASTIC trip, btw)

We had 8 of everything (washcloths, bath & hand towels)...there were 4 in each bathroom.

Be warned.....the showerhead in the smaller bathroom is LIKE A KNIFE (at least in room# 7612). The kids could not use it and had to shower in our bathroom. DH couldn't believe it hasn't been replaced with something else by now.

I normally walk back to the resort with the pool towel around my waist (almost like a sarong) to cover up a bit. Can I not do that at BWV?

Sure you can. Not a problem at all. Just don't load up with a stack of towels to take back to your villa. And return the pool towel to the pool area after you are finished with it.
