DVC thoughts and ? new info?

I certainly hope that DVC does not split into a "DVC original" and "DVC new and improved". That will make me feel as I did when I bought my last dot-com stock.....somewhat dissapointed (anti-LOL)!!

Although I am new to DVC and will be going home in Sept (VWL) I really, really really (can't say it enough) look forward to the BCV and hope that it is not a significant jump in price. We bought 150 at VWL and are hoping to do the same at the BCV. That way, we would have a Magic Kingdom and Epcot home:cool:

I love reading all the speculation about BCV keep posting....:bounce: :pinkbounc

I am not sure that BCV will open at 100.00 a point. I have seen this speculated here and I don't think that Disney could raise it that high in such a short time. The largest increases so far have been 5.00 per point, but many times it was 2.50 per point.
If they do go to a DVC two, then that would allow them to increase some, but still the increase just to get an extra 9 years?? I think it would be a very hard sell even for the die hard BCV fans to pay so much more when BWV resales would be less and you still have great location. We had considered the BCV, and are waiting to see what the price and point chart will be. Meanwhile we are checking out BWV resales.
I don't know if the new resort would be Bonnet Creek. That would make it more remote than OKW. The points would likely be more in line with BWV/VWL/BCV, so you don't have any points savings. If there are significant price increases for BCV then you would have to be able to get the same price per point for Bonnet Creek, and I am not sure Disney could do that. There are enough OKW resales that would be cheaper. There are also plenty of nice timeshares with golf courses in the Disney area that sell for a lot less. What would the theme be?

What would the theme be?

Hey Ann, that's a great idea for a new thread. Not just "where" the next DVC resort will be but "what" it will be as well! Maybe if the next resort is golf related it'll tie into their new spokesperson Tiger Woods. ;)

As to whether it could be just part of DVC or needs to be a DVC II if they change end dates, Dean is correct that it is not necessary legally to actually do a whole new program. They could actually go either way and accomplish the same result of linking the new resort with the old. Which way they would go, assuming the end date change, will probably depend on which one they think is easier to do from a legal drafting and cost standpoint.

If you own at OKW, VB, HH or VWL, and would like to stay in the EPCOT area, where are you going to book your ressies? At a beautiful resort that charges 20 points per night or at a beautiful resort that charges 28 points per night. I can even see BCV owners booking at BCV and then go on a wait list for the same dates at BWV and switching if they get it.

I know in the beginning DVCers will want to give BCVs a try, but after they get a taste of the BW area and realize they can stay for a lot less points, they will book at BWV.

This isn't a fact JMHO. I hope they make the point schedule comparable to that of BWV. This would actually take some of the heat off of BWV and make it easier for us to get last minute ressies.
