DVC Tervis Tumblers

I love Tervis cups! We are going in Sept..hope to find some then :thumbsup2

I can confirm that my DCL cup is Tervis. It has Donald on the Aquaduck on it and was purchased on the Dream last summer.

I bought Tervis mugs for DH and myself last Christmas (with Disney logos etc). They claim they are dishwasher safe, microwave save, etc. We actually loved these mugs and hand washed them most of the time. However, after 6 months they have completely discolored. Tervis said to use a baking soda paste and that didn't work at all. Total waste of money. I'm definitely not a fan of Tervis! Save your money everyone!

I'm not a Tervis fan either- they scratch and fade after use and really don't hold up in the dishwasher. I was really disappointed as I like the design and function of the mugs, especially for my grandkids. I had bought Tervis on the Homer Laughlin website too- same problem although not nearly as cute as Disney's designs!

Anyone have photos of any of the tumblers? What size? With lids and/or handles?

Photo! Photo! Please!
here is a picture of my new Tervis HHI mug.

I love Tervis. I hope I can find them when we go next. Hope to get them from all our home resorts......and DCL.
DH has a Donald one now and I have a villains one (among others).

Does anyone know if they have them in CA too?

We have had the complete opposite happen. Our tumblers are between 6 months and 10 months old. They have been through the dishwasher with each use and still look brand new. I only buy the ones with the entire insert, I don't like the ones with something that looks like a patch in them. Maybe with the full color all the way around I cannot see any scratches. Color-wise though, they are as bright as the day we bought them.

I agree. My Tervis is about 1 year old and goes thru the dishwasher about 2-3 times a week. It still looks brand new. I would guess that the ones with patches in them go thru a different process of assembly and aren't as sealed as the others.

I've seen some pretty lousy merchandise lately from Disney. Can anyone confirm these are the genuine Tervis branded tumblers?

The merchandise has gotten so lousy that it saves me lots of money. Why bother to buy that junke? It won't last, doesn't look good (hint Disney you average DVC buyer probably isn't 16 years old and doesn't want her "assets" showing all over the park!) and is just a waste!

The branded stuff is the only stuff worth looking at but you must make sure it's not just a knock off (Disney will fight tooth and nail to defend thier stuff, but is blatent about 'stealing' :confused3)

Just returned from a 10 day stay & wanted to say that I had this thread in mind while searching the following gift shops during my trip....

YC
BC
AKL (both Jambo & Kidani)
Poly
CR/BLT

No sign of any resort-specific tumblers anywhere.

I wasn't thrilled with any of the DVC merchandise & did not purchase any...not even a little key-chain or magnet. That was a first for me. I'm hoping they will have Tervis Tumblers at BCV or AKV next time.

I finally got around to taking pictures of our 7 month old tervis tumblers. They discolored almost immediately. Apparently as I said above, you can only use baking soda to clean them -- no dish detergent. Seriously? Tervis said they would replace them, but why bother if I have to have a special process to clean them?

I would totally return those to Tervis for a replacement. I put mine in the dishwasher all the time, and mine have never turned like that. I have some that are several (more than 5) years old that look brand new. I have never had anything stain/discolor them like that, even iced tea. And I've never cleaned them with baking soda - only the dishwasher.

I bought DCL themed Tervis Tumblers while on the Fantasy during our June 30 sailing, and yes, they have the Tervis information on the bottom, just like the other Tervis tumblers I have at home.

I can second that. I have some that are over 17 years old, got them at my previous employment, and I have been gone from there since 1995. Mine always go in the dishwasher, never had them stain.

I have returned some to Tervis for eventually leaking. Took about 3 weeks for me to get them back, but they came back to me with the original designs inside, just like when I first got them, but new plastic, they looked great.

I got to thinking about this and I'll bet that those of us with well water and softeners might have the problem vs. those on city/town water? Just wondering why some have not problems with discoloration and some do. But then why wouldn't the Tervis people know that when I inquired?

I have about 20 Tervis 16 oz tumblers, they are in dishwasher almost daily. None have discolored at all, and they are about 2-3 years old. I have some Disney patch ones, a couple of Disney wraps, several Marvel designs, and lots of NY Giants ones.

I would return the discolored ones for sure, but that is so bizarre what happened to them.

We are...and to their credit Tervis promised new ones. I wasn't sure it would be worth the effort, but will give it a try anyway. :)

I'm assuming these Tervis tumblers are not refillable mugs? Rats! I was so hoping there was a return to the resort-specific refillable mugs.
