Just received this email from DVC:

Dear Member,

At Disney Vacation Club, we know how much you enjoy exploring destinations and experiences beyond your Home Resorts. Our team is dedicated to helping you create unforgettable vacation memories around the world. That’s why we’re thrilled to name Interval International as our exclusive new exchange provider for traditional exchanges, effective Jan. 1, 2022.

This new relationship will offer you a broad range of resort experiences, providing flexible and diverse opportunities in amazing locations across Europe, Asia, South America, Australia, as well as destinations closer to home including the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean.

Through Interval International, you will have access to thousands of resorts including a specially curated portfolio of high-quality properties selected especially for Members. This expanded portfolio includes well-known resorts offered by Marriott, Sheraton, Hyatt and Westin, to name a few.

In the meantime, you can continue to book nightly and weekly exchanges in the traditional exchanges through our current program until Dec. 31, 2021. Additionally, any confirmed reservations or points that have been deposited to RCI will be honored through 2023. If you have confirmed exchanges with RCI, deposited points with RCI or made a booking with RCI using cash, you can always review your activity on the Member website.

We’re excited to continue to provide you and your family with a whole new world of vacation possibilities!

All the best,

I'm happy about it - Marriott resorts are usually nicer than Wyndhams.

Just received mine as well. I have a Marriott timeshare so I wonder how this will work with multiple Interval accounts.

Interesting. We’ve never used the exchange, so I’m curious to see what it’ll offer, though I still imagine it’d be better to rent points and book travel on my own.

I can't wait to hear from experienced TS folk what this really means as far as resorts that we can now trade for and if this would be seen as an upgrade.

In general, we've found Marriott, Westin, Sheraton and other II resorts to be nicer than RCI resorts, and I think many on TUG share that view. My parents used to own Marriott TS, so when DVC switched it didn't really matter, but after my dad sold them, I've really missed having access to Marriott and other II resorts.

We have family with Mariott TS, so it would be interesting to see if we can book at the same resorts now!

People were so disappointed here when DVC changed to RCI, so this should be happy news!

Need to see what they have in Maui!!

Happy about this news! II was the exchange option when I joined in 2007. I traded out to a really nice property in Cancun in 2009 - at least I think it was 2009! Not too long after that DCV moved to RCI, and I never found anything that interested me.

I’m happy this seems to be a positive change as I have no experience using either RCI or Interval International. I did look at using RCI when we decided to do a Yellowstone trip and there was nothing appealing in that area.
